Thats a great idea.

I'm assuming you live with parents...in my list of things you will need. ( I know i shouldn't assume-but how else can I help wiht your question since you didn't mention it when you said you have seperate places)

You will need:
Kitchen:
Dishes
eating utensils
pots
pans
baking sheets (for more than just baking)
tupperware or other things for kitchen storage
toaster
microwave
coffemaker (if you drink coffe)
tea pot
oven mits
spatualas, tongs, meat thermometer, large spoons, can opener, etc.
blender
mop
broom & dust pan

Large kitchen appliances: (if not included with the place where you will live)
refridgerator
oven
dishwasher

living room & dining room:
furniture (couch, chairs)
dinner table
end tables
lamps
bookshelf?
coffee table
tv/tv stand
vacuum

bedroom & bathroom:
furniture
bed linens
pillows
towels
shower curtain & liner

That is just a few of the major things you will need if moving out on your own for the first time.
If you already live on your own, they between the two of you, you probably have most if not all of what you will need. You should sit down and make a list of all the things you want to keep and what you want to get rid of (if anything). Then you have the option of registering for things you would like to have, better dinner plate or silverware, nicer (higher thread count) bed sheets, fluffier towels. Or you could always ask for gift cards to places like home depot or lowes to purchase things you will need for your house when you live together.

good luck & congrats!

That is a good idea. Then you will have everything you need when you do move in together. Ask for things that are not to expensive and remember that you will get a lot of things for wedding gifts. You should probably ask for kitchen things first like dishes, silverware, toaster, just the things that you really can't live without.

This is what your registery is for. Right now, I would not worry about getting household items.

Are you planning on having a bridal shower? If you are, most of your gifts will be the items off of your household registery.

You could ask for things now and then not include them on your registry. If your mom asks, "what do you want for Christmas, I think it would be OK to say........a bedroom set or pots and pans"

i dont see why not...and think about things your going to need ..such as kitchen appliances...or cookware, new plates etc.

I would rather get that stuff from the shower though. I would hate to use it before the wedding and also hate to just let it sit there in the box if you know what i mean :)

Hope this helps :)
