Will the wedding dress I'm in love with now still be around? If so, when do you recommend I buy it?
It's a Maggie Sottero...

Thanks!

Chances are that 2 years from now, it will be discontinued and/or no longer available on your size.

If you find it on a bridal store, probably it have been tried on 100 times already. If you love it, then buy it now or else, risk not buying the same dress.

One thing to consider, would the same/style would be fashionable 2 years from now? I love the dress, but the pick-up style is now being shelved.

Love the beading and the confection in general. Very pretty.

Good luck

I'm getting married in 2009 too and bought my dress a few months ago.
If you LOVE it - I would bu it now. With the wedding more than a year off, there is a very good chance that new styles will have replaced the ones that are available now.

I'm so glad you asked because I have been wondering the same thing. I already have my dress picked out (i have tried it on and everything) but with the way things are going it looks like my wedding is going to be pushed to 2009 but I don't want to risk losing the dress. I'm not sure what to do.

I don't think buying a dress know would be a good idea if you're getting married on 2009 because you never know if you could loose or gain weight I believed that you should get a picture of the dress and save it just in case they don't have that dress later that way if they don't you can always get it done specially for you.

It seems like wedding gown designs change with the seasons. You may be able to contact the designer and find out if they'll be able to make it closer to your wedding. If it is "the" dress, I'd say buy it relatively soon.

Congrats & Good Luck.
PS that dress is gorgeous.

Hi and congratulations!

If you can somehow afford to buy it now, I would do so. NO....there is no guarantee that the particular dress you love in 2007 will be available to you in 2009. Styles change...that's how designers make their money! So, again, maybe purchase it now so that you will have your dream gown!

It's very, very beautiful!

It is possible that it might be around then again it could I would just keep a look out for it ask the vendor and retailer if they still have some how many and for how many seasons they think it will be around and then make a decision from there.

don't buy now!! you might gain or lose weight, you may change the level of formality of the wedding, etc. there are too many crucial decisions up in the air for you to buy an expensive dress so far ahead of time. i know that some will tell you that a year is perfectly acceptable to buy a dress, but realize that this dress isn't a completely unique design. many designers make similar styles. besides, decisions made out of desperation are rarely good ones.

here are some other dresses that are very similar. this style will always be around. these are all just from one site. imagine if i had really searched designer brands and mags.

your dress should match the formality of the ceremony and reception, take into consideration the weather/season, and the time of day. your dress should also take into consideration your shoes, your undergarments, and your budget. don't make a hasty decision.
