I recently attended a Halloween wedding, and the bride and groom were this sweet gothic couple. Every detail was darkly classy, red and black everything. I like the idea of a holiday wedding because then you have an extra special anniversary.

The groom had created a sculpture out of clay and painted it and it was an EXACT replica of the two of the bride and groom in their wedding outfits (which he also made)... stunning. It was unreal how perfect it was.

Held at the local Botanical Gardens... wow I totally want to steal that idea! It was lovely!

When the time came for feeding each other cake, they each had their best man and maid of honor at their sides and at the very last moment, turned around and the groom smashed cake in the best man's face and the bride smashed cake in the maid of honor's face, then they fed each other :-P

Sand ceremonies... amazing.

Silver tassels on the bouquet, it looked so classy.

Details I loved from my wedding:

My husband is a pastry chef and he made our wedding cake
We made our own invitations
We didn't have a limo because the church was attached to the reception hall
My husband and I had our own little table just for the two of us
Everyone who attended our wedding were people we truly care about!

My aunt and uncle had a simple wedding and it was the best I've been to. We were outside at a pavilion by a lake. We were all told to dress casual and asked to bring a dish to share. They provided the grilled food and we had a picnic reception. A friend of theirs came out and played guitar. That was the whole wedding. It was a lot of fun and didn't get lost in all the fluff that a lot of weddings have.

We were married at a bed and breakfast in the wine country - beautiful views of vineyards and rollings hills.

No assigned seats at the reception for 125 guests, everybody sat with whoever they wanted.

Because location was so beautiful I got off really cheap on decorations hired florist for bridal party flowers and very small centerpieces about 15 of them, all came out to $1200.

I hired a minister online because his website had pictures of his home and his dog house was painted to match his house, I knew he was the right person to marry us.

We had custom catering so I gave my grandmothers recipe for gumbo and the chef made it. It was a small company so it wasn't expensive.

I printed off the internet pictures of bouquets and wedding cakes to show the florist and baker what I want and what I didn't want.

Where we stayed for the wedding night had a jacuzzi tub, after wearing that heavy dress and heels for 8 hours I nearly fell asleep in the tub!

I loved my so to be sis-in-law idea of having the ceremony and reception at the same place and it being a hotel so every one could stay there if they wanted to and every one from out of town could to! I totally stole that idea!

Simple center pieces so people could see & talk around them.

Candy bar, Had tons of goodies the cutes bags with handmade tags too cute stealing this idea as well!

The cermony beaing simple not to flashy so all your foucs goes the bride and groom. No to long either! The bride and groom making there cermony to fit the personalities.

These are just a few of my favorite things.

Best wishes in planning your special day.

I was a bit jealous of my sister-in-law's wedding because they did the super-classy expensive wedding. We had a cut-corners wedding although it was nice. Their reception was in a ballroom of a private club with an open bar and a DJ... I guess I always dreamed of THAT wedding instead of the one I got, but you know what? It doesn't really matter! If ever I find myself having a "next time", I'm going to elope.

I was just the maid of honor at my best friend's wedding and the part I loved was the part I knew I couldn't get at my wedding....the groom stood up and made a toast to his bride and welled up with tears doing it. It was just about the sweetest thing I've ever seen. My fiance isn't a romantic like that....though if he did do something like that it would be the end of me (here's wishing).

Well, my first wedding was simple, but my husband and I renewed our vows, on a cruise ship, there is nothing like it, we went with our friends(2) the ceremony was wonderful, but then the photographer takes you all over the ship, and everyone gets into it, we got gifts, and people were happy for us, yelling and cheering, look into a cruise wedding.. Good Luck

Some things I liked:
bridesmaids in same color dress, but different styles (it accomodated a wide variety of ages and sizes and looked fantastic!)
MOH in a different color dress than bridesmaids (when they were all out mingling you know which one was the MOH)
A meal arranged in a way that I would eat it (I'm a fussy eater).
I'm planning my own, but my "Love It" is going to be my theme - Halloween! It is my favorite holiday.
