I don't think you can beat Mexico. I think the prices are good and service and accommodations are great too.

Venice is absolutely beautiful. And nothing is more romantic than a lovely gondala ride through the canals of Venice, with an Italian native serenading you all the way. It has so many beautiful sites to see, museums, and it's a GREAT walking city. You can just walk around all day, in circles if you need to, and there are many great hotels around the area.
And, in addition, it's near the italian costline, where the mediterranean is, and it is extremely romantic, and it has clubs all over the place for tourist attraction. It's a pretty quiet place too, not extremely congested. And the best thing "NO CARS!"

i am having the same problem. i really want to go to italy but my fiance doesnt. i just went to my travel agent today and here is what she told me:
punta canta is a must for die hard beach lovers since there is not much else there to do
fiji and tahiti are gorgeous but the flight is super long (depending on what side of the us you live on)
hawaii per the agent, is very pretty but expensive
us virgin islands require no passports
ever thought about greece? very expensive but totally different
paris, italy and rome are awesome and can be reasonable (but their currency is not good compared to ours). she said that doing a tour is a lot cheaper then going on your own. you get special perks like free food and not having to wait in line during tours and etc.
i told her i hate the peddlers in mexico on the beach and she recomended overall for us to go the riviera maya.
last year for a trip, we went to puerto vallarta, mexico and stayed at the golden crown paradise resort for adults only. they have an AWESOME honeymoon suite for under three grand with air fare. you get your own private ocean front balcony with a private outdoor jacuzzi. :)
any place in mexico is known for a great nightlife!

Go to Belgium. It's a beautiful country and the people are very warm and welcoming. English is spoken everywhere. The food is delicious; and there's all that chocolate and beer and waffles. Brussels, the capital city, is magnificent; and you can travel anywhere in Belgium by train. The trains are clean and they run on time to the minute. Get a guidebook for Belgium and check it out.

I really love Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico. It brought many wonderful memories. There is a beautiful beach were you can enjoy the sunset. I also remember that there was a musical night life. It was very comfortable at night. You're not too hot nor cold. Just perfect. The city was fascinating and beautiful.

This might be a little pricey, but if your looking for romantic and sweet, I suggest Paris.. cold so you two can warm each other up, yet romantic to watch or go to the Eiffel tower. If your looking for more of a veiw type thing.. then go for hawii or the carribieans... a cruize... and if your looking for a...feista.. go to mexico! Hope this helped! Have fun at your hunnymoon destiation!

My wife and I were married in April of 96. We went to Memphis, TN.
It's not the tropical paradise you're looking for but, the city has some amazing history. And Beal's street can be a lot of fun at night.

Costa Rica is great, inexpensive and not third world (more second world ) and most people you will have to deal with speak a decent amount of english. I went for 19 days and spent less than 3 thousand dollars a couple of years ago and had a blast (24/7 party) there are cloud forests, rain forests, volcanoes and much more. check it out its worth it

'Flower Island' ... Taveuni, Fiji.
Fiji's "Forgotten North," Taveuni - known as the "Garden Island." Only 26 miles long and 14 miles wide, this lush, mountainous island is home to hidden lakes and waterfalls, as well as black, white and golden sand beaches and rich in hibiscus, bougainvillea and other brilliant tropical flowers.
This oasis is an ideal spot for an exotic honeymoon.

April - I would NOT suggest Mexico - spring breakers. I would recommend Hawaii - Maui.
I love Spain - Barcalona is wonderful and Paris is one of the best places ever - romantic and lovely and cultural.
