I know people usually invite someone who is still single to be the matron of honor, is that OK if I invite someone who is divorced?

Of course it is fine to have her as your Matron of Honor. The word has everything to do with it. Matron is a women with marriage experance. Maiden of Honor is an unmarried women. Plus its your choice don't let what other people do make you change your mind about your wedding.

If she's not married, then she's the maid of honor. It's still the same honor but the only difference is if she's married, then she's the matron of honor. If she's divorced then she's the maid of honor.

Good Luck.

matron of honor is a married woman. maid of honor is a single woman. Some people have both (I will at my wedding) I would put her as the maid of honor and not matron since she is no longer married.

She of course can stand up for you at your wedding! Her correct title would be Maid of honor because she is not married. Matron is for those who are married.

The person's marital status does not matter when choosing. A matron of honor is or has been married. An ummarried woman is called a maid of honor. Ask whomever you want, it's your wedding!

She would be your maid of honor since she is not married. The matron of honor is currently married, not someone who is divorced or widowed. Most people choose whoever is closest to them regardless of marital status.

Hi and congratulations!

Well, if your friend is divorced....then she IS SINGLE!!

She would NOT be a matron of honor....only if she is married.
Even though she is divorced, and now single, she is a Maid of Honor.

Good luck!

Marital status doesn't matter when you're picking your maid (never married) or matron (married, divorced or widowed) of honor.

Of course, she'd be a Maid of Honor though, as she is not married.
