Scenerio: A good friend of mine just got engaged. I was just informed that for my friend's engagement ring, her fiance is borrowing his mom's engagement ring. My friend will have to give the ring back to her mother-in-law after the wedding.


Um, am I the only person that thinks this is super weird? Like, you can buy a $50 ring at Wal Mart or something....what would you do/say in this situation? Would you still marry a guy who gave you his mom's engagement ring, then told you to give it back after the wedding?

FYI, the guy DOES have a job..

I'm getting married soon and we are looking for a secluded romantic honeymoon spot. She is leaning toward Cancun, Mexico and I'm thinking the Florida Keys. simple example is I can't go out with friends with out him if it's night out ,dinner ,moives etc always tell me what to do ..in other way he is nice to me he buys me everything . if I want somthing it my way but he needs to know where I am ?who I am talking to?etc... and he start abusing me not physicaly though

OK My boyfriend and I love each other and want to get married but he wants to wait on til he can give me a wedding i been wanted but i really dont care much for the wedding I just want tomarry him. I got engaged last week and have started to plan the wedding. We would like to do something next October or early November in the LA/OC area. After several years of 6+ weddings per summer it would be great to have a more casual and fun event for my friends and family to attend. Obviously trying to keep the cost down too as we are planning to invite 200+. Any interesting ideas or veunues that people would like to offer up?

The groomsmen have been selected for my brothers wedding and now my cousin wants to be part of it. He's a lot younger than us and the groomsmen that have been selected have a much closer relationship.
With that being said, this cousin has caused some faily drama and it seems as though parents are getting involved, if not already. I'm scared he might do the samething with me, since my wedding is in a couple of months and I haven't selected him to be part of the wedding.. but I think the most important thing is him and his family will continue to make this an issue till my brothers wedding and further on.. any suggestions on shutting him up?

His family does not acknowledge gifts (phone, e-mail, written) for formal or casual occasions. Now we've been invited/obligated to my husband's nephew's 2nd wedding next Weds. Dec 27th at 5pm. The nephew lives about 10-12 hours away but is getting married here. (My husband's brother called and told us about it last night.) And we get to bring a covered dish to help at the reception. I met this nephew once briefly and he and my husband aren't particularly close. Are we obligated to go? Do I have to bring food? A gift? This is already getting old - they've don't give my kids presents nor did they give us wedding gifts or a baby gift for our 11 month old son. My husband said he'd never heard of acknowledging gifts with thank you notes. My husband is paid hourly and will miss work if he goes. I don't want to drive 30-45min to this church in the late afternoon with 4 kids under age 10, esp. alone. I have no interest in attending but I think his family already dislikes me. What to do??????
