I'm getting married soon and we are looking for a secluded romantic honeymoon spot. She is leaning toward Cancun, Mexico and I'm thinking the Florida Keys. I'm wanting to book soon, so I need so help. I'm not wanting to spend a ton of money either. Looking for some answers from someone who has been to either one. Thanks

AS A FLIGHT ATTENDANT, I HAVE SPENT TIME IN BOTH PLACES. FLORIDA KEYS IS DEFINITELY YOUR BEST BET. IT HAS A BIT OF A EUROPEAN FLAIR, IT'S LAID BACK, IT'S LOVELY AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT DRINKING THE LOCAL WATER. CONGRATS!!!!!

Go with Florida...I've been going there every other year since I've been born and its beautiful. There's still alot to do there, its still romantic, and it's not expensive at all. Where as Cancun.... at that time, you'll have alot of crazy college kids there coming right out of school for the year. There is alot to do there also, but if you're looking for something romantic, Florida is the place to go! I'm also getting married in May, I think we're going to Puerta Vallarta for our honeymoon. Have fun and congrats!

Go to Cancun!!

Well, not exactly to Cancun, ask for the Riviera Maya, it's just 30 minutes from Cancun and they have the best hotels for honeymooners. A good recommendation, Paradisus Riviera Cancun. (look it up on yahoo or google)
It's really comfortable and very romantic. and if you get the Royal Service treatment you get and even better deal. they have a Spa, private swimming pool, the suites have jacuzzi.
you get the whole deal!!!

Hope I was of help

Playa del Carmen, MX. It about 1 hour from Cancun and is a small beach town. It's like Cancun just a little more low key. If you are looking to party, this isn't the place for you.

It's where I went for my honeymoon and I absolutely loved it.

I am a native Floridian, and I actually hate Florida (only because I have lived here my whole life, and so has my husband) BUT I would choose the Florida Keys. Its fun, laid back and you'll enjoy yourself. Everyone who has not been to Florida always choose it because of its reputation!!!
Good Luck and Congrats
PS I have been to Cancun twice, it is very nice also but if your wanting laid back and secluded, then Cancun is not for you! (just my opinion)

My answer is not one of your choices but I have been to these places and I would highly reccommend them. Both of these places are in the British Virgin Islands. One is the island of Anegada and the other is Carrie's Island Comfort Inn in Tortola.

The entire island od Anegada is very quiet and romantic. I spent a vacation and I was not disturbed at all by Tourists or anyone for that matter. Carrie's Island Comfort Inn is a wonderful little Inn close to the beach (like three minutes driving). It has a view to die for and since it is a little out of the way, you are not bothered by excessive visitors or tourists.

Give the website a look.

If you're thinking about going right after the wedding, make sure it doesn't conflict with Spring Break time...Cancun around then can, and does, get VERY hectic and you'll be wishing you had a rock to crawl under. Do a little bit of research and find out when the Spring Break deals are, and avoid them!!

depends on when if soon meaning in 2-3 months either one is good but spring/summer is heavy tourist season cost is a factor as well. Though the peso is cheap compared to dollars but they will rip you off down there. If you are getting married in the summer you might want to consider Alaska its actually quite nice up there that time of year.

May I suggest that you google Siesta Keys, Florida. It was voted one of the most beautiful American beaches. The sand looks and feels like baby powder. It's gorgeous and the surrounding towns are so much fun. I really recommend it.

Both of your choices are nice but what about something like this? http://www.caesarspoconoresorts.com/ This place is located in the mountains, they have many different settings/features to choose from and they also offer a 7 foot champagne glass whirlpool bath for two. This place is absolutely amazing! My husband and I went there for our honeymoon and we had to tear ourselves away!! Congrats on the wedding and Merry Christmas.

The price depends on what package you choose, but it's not outrageous
