My partner and I moved our wedding forward to february as my dad is ill, (He has liver cancer). The most important thing after me and partner actually getting married, is having my father there. So my problem is and although you may think it a trivial one I want to buy my dad something for him when he does come to the wedding, as I'm sure he'll keep going until then as it means a lot to him and us. He has taken my partner on as the son he never had and they are both very close, especially as we have moved back into the family home for christmas so we can all be together. So can anyone think of something that would say thank you to him for all he has ever done? I know it is a very personal thing but any interesting gift ideas like naming roses or something like that? Merry Christmas everyone and have a great new year!

I would have to say the first thing that I ever done for him that he still talks to until this day was how I would get up during the middle of night for fix him dinner and drive to his job to bring it to him (he worked 3rd shift and his dinner was at 3 am, good thing was he only worked about a mile from my house).
So I would get up and make something hot, drive it to him and sit while he ate and talked. I even sometimes spiced it up by throwing on something "cute" with heels just to make him want to come to my house after he got off work...lol.

He still brags about his dinners and the guys he worked with were jealous because their WIVES wouldnt even do it. Now after 4 years and about to be married he asked for things like that to never stop (except now its in moderation...lol)

I recently got engaged and bought a ring for my fiance and had it resized to a 4.5 to fit over her knuckle. That is the smallest possible but her fingers are so thin that it still remains loose. I have heard there are tighteners that can help. Do you know where i can find these and what they look like?

I am just not sure what I need. I want some speicality glasses like Maritini and Margarita glasses but these are the choice for these unbreakable lenox glasses I really like-

Red Wine, Set of 4
White Wine, Set of 4
Balloon, Set of 4
Double Old Fashion Glass, Set of 4
Cocktail Glass, Set of 4

My mom is thinking about remarrying to this really cool guy. And we were talking last night and she asked me "Do you think it's unhuman to have second thoughts after you've said yes?" Of course I couldn't answer, but does anyone have any ideas what it could mean. 'Cause I know my mom loves this guy and I know he loves her. And I just want her to be happy.....

Why do most couples who cohabitat end up in divorce?
My psychology teacher reported some statisics that showed that more and more couples who cohabitat before marriage are more likely to end up in divorce than couples who did not. Any opinions as to why this may be happening? Your help is greatly appreciated

My boyfriend and I have been dating for 5 years and planned to get engaged by the end of the year. We started looking at rings in September but had to put things on hold because of unforeseen circumstances including a death in my family. Things have settled down again and we were going to go back to the jeweler after Thanksgiving. Over the holiday weekend my best friend's boyfriend proposed. My boyfriend and I are very close to her and her family. Do I have to wait to get engaged now?
