You can still have a las vegas wedding and have a reception with family. There is a trend that is becoming very popular with couples...having the wedding on a night during the week, say Thursday or Friday...and then have a reception on another night, say a Friday or a Saturday. That way he can have his small ceremony with your close fmaily and friends, and he won't have to be the center of attention...and you can still have a huge party afterwards to celebrate with everyone!! If you are going to do that, make sure you word the invitations properly...there is a certain etiquette about writing invitations to the party because after the day of the wedding it is no longer called a reception, but the party honoring you and your new husband. Talk to him about it...he might change his mind. It is all about compromse.

We eloped to Vegas in 2000, and got married in the court house. It took less than 30 mins. to get the license and get married. We had so much fun.
The link above might give you some help. Remember this should be EASY to arrange. Las Vegas is known for their weddings and most things are already set up and require very little actual preparation on your part.
Pick a hotel and contact them for wedding chapel and package arrangements.

I've never been to Lake Las Vegas but heard it's beautiful.
I don't know if your package at the location includes flowers, but here's an alternative. Try the horticulture department at UNLV. A friend of mine had her flowers done by them. They were beautiful and about 1/3 of the price.
Congratulation and Good Luck!

Lake Las Vegas is a beautiful location!! The event specialists on site are very helpful with everything and will definitely be able to get you down the aisle, stress-free. Most of their outdoor ceremonies are down in the breezeway and you can have your reception anywhere. It is just a great resort, hands-down. Have fun!!

Yes. My friend got married there in January, in the Venetian in the Venice area. It was neat.
Go on a ..oh what do you call those boats in Venice?? Not a canoe....can't remember the name...ah yes a gondola ride in the canal....Very cool!
Vegas is a great city. Go out at about 4 AM, find a convenience store, grab a few beers and walk the strip. Go for breakfast, and meet an Elvis impersonator. Very entertaining town!

It can be very nice!! Try to get married at one of the hotels though. We know someone who got married at one of the chapels off the strip and it was nasty!! Check out the hotel websites, they will have a link if they offer wedding service. Good luck and congrats!!
