Basically i want to propose to my girlfriend of almost 6 years i am 21 and she is 20. This is something we definitly want and i want to buy her a ring. Basically i dont have too much to spend on it and i was wondering what a good diamond size is and what it a good amount to spend. Please help!!!! I know the rule of thumb is what you make in two months but i think that is wrong and not an option. Could i spend around $2500 or less and get a nice ring???

In a traditional american wedding, I understand that bride's parents take care of reception expenses. Who would be responsible for alcohol, photography and flowers? Thank you in advance.

I want to have a small indoor wedding for about 30 people but I'm not sure how i can keep the costs down any more than I plan to. A friend told me it should cost no more than 1,000, but so far, our bill is up to $3,000. We are planning to have the wedding at a local restaurant and the reception will follow at the same place. We're having an open bar for 3 hours and a food station style dinner. I'd like to get costs down on the flowers, the decorations, ect. Also, has anyone ever used disposable cameras on each table for their photography?

I really want to have a nice party that doesn't take too much money away from paying our credit cards and other more important bills.

I am getting re-married to my ex-husband which we are planning for 10/07. My mother in particular wants to know why we are doing something BIG ( a ceremony and reception) instead of just having a JP come to the house and then go out to dinner.
We want to go on a Honeymoon and we want to share our starting over with our family and friends. I have never asked my parents for money seeing that they paid for the 1st wedding. Why is it such a big deal? Can someone give me some advice???
Your suggestions are welcome! Thank you for viewing!

My partner and I have been together for 3 years.
We are currently 37 weeks pregnant (planned)
He was married to the mother of his almost 4 year old, now divorced.
I have a 5 year old.
our baby was planned, but we fell pregnant a month ahead of schedule (planning to give birth late jan early feb, instead late dec early jan.) I think my partner had planned to propose before I fell pregnant, so that he didnt feel pressured by his highly religious family to get married before the babies birth-as he did in his previous marriage which ended in divorce- I therefore told him that he had better not ask me to marry him simply because his dad thinks it is not the right thing to do. (our baby will be loved regardless of a ring) the problem is that I am not religous and there fore think that a wedding is simply a fancy dress party that costs alot, my partner sees it as a promise to each other in the 'eyes of god' any opinions on this?

my fiance and i have contacts that can provide music and the cake so that should not be a problem, however as i was looking at websites there're lots of expenses we need to cover.

my wedding is until sept. 2008 so there's time for plans and to save up money.

i dont plan a big wedding but not a small one either. i want an average reception and a church ceremony. i dont plan on having bridemaids. we plan on inviting no more than 200 ppl.

Im getting married at the courthouse and right now we can't afford a big reception or wedding. We thought of just having our family and friends to a place for dinner. We cannot even afford to pay for everyone's meal (we just had twins), but we would love to share this special moment with our lovedones. How should I go about asking them to pay for their bill in a tactful way on the inventations? There is only about 20 people at most.

My finace and I got engaged in October. We've been dating for 6.5 years. We are planning on getting married 5-9-09 because I still have 2 years of nursing school left. When would be a resonable time to start planning? Thank you!

I am roughly a 30/32. I am having trouble because I can a few of these online, but if I order, I have to buy...and the bridal boutiques don't have any dresses in my size, so I can't see what style works for me. I have less than a month to order my dress to give it time for shipping and I'm completely stumped...I'm freaking out! I've found my prince charming..and want to look beautiful for him..but I don't know what to do other than order a dress & pray that it works.

I'm getting married very soon and don't know if I should stay in Chicago (where I would be happier) or in the suburbs (where my fiancee prefers). She moved from overseas to be with me and we are planning on having kids next year.

I'm having one bridesmaid who is my best friend and she was there when I bought my dress, but she lives far away and I can't share the excitement with her all the time (not that I'm Bridezilla or anything). so is it ok to show my 2 close friends who won't be bridesmaids, or should I not show anyone? (never thought I'd be asking such a shallow question... :)

I'm getting married on January 6th and am having a hard time picking out a song to dance to with my Dad. He doesn't enjoy dancing, so I don't want something too long, and I don't want anything overly sentimental and sappy. The songs listed on the wedding websites are all so saccharine - does anyone have a better idea?

Thanks!

I'm a pianist and will be playing for a Jewish Wedding. They have asked me to select songs to play for the half hour before the wedding begins. I need some recommendations - pieces that are appropriate for a wedding
