Just wondering what will be your comments on this one.....I have a friend whose parents are arraging his marrigae with his cousin (it is perfectly OK to marry cousin in their culture - so no comments on that please).

The problem is he loves his parents and they support him everytime he needs anything...money or whatever.... the problem is he is almost 6 foot and his cousin is almost 5foot.. he thinks she a bit too short for him and he never thought about getting married with her

.... but if he does get married with her he will have a good life by having his everything done by his wife...including cooking, dishes, everything done at home... guaranteed... as she is grown to be a house wife....

What would you do if you are in this situation>? Please this is very serious matter...he needed my help and I know Yahoo user can tell the best...I wrote what I understood. Again this is not DISGUSTING in their culture...just imagine another lady instead of cousin if is matters....

From a baker's standpoint, I know that they are not cheaper. There is more labor involved with centerpiece cakes so the price goes up somewhat, although most bakers overlook this fact.

What are your feelings on them, from the standpoint of both a bride and a guest? Would you rather have traditional centerpieces or the cakes?

Also, if you have seen these done before, how did they go over?

My husband is going to be going to Iraq early this coming year and I don't know wheater to stay here in North Carolina for an entire year or go back to Texas and be with my family until he comes back. I have a very good job as a receptionist and I know that if I go back to Texas that I am not going to want to work I already told my husband that and he told me that I didn't have to work if I didn't want too. What to do...If you were in my shoes what would you do go or stay?

she knows me way too well, so i need to come up with a way to surprise her, while still being romantic. doesnt need to be too flashy, but i really just want to surprise her.

all i can think of is to not ask her on the obvious dates... christmas, birthday, vday, new years.... aside from that, i have no idea...

We will be getting married on a major holiday weekend, Memorial Day. The majority of our guests will be from out of state. How far in advance should I send the invitations in order to allow enough time to book hotels. We are also having the wedding in a small town at a bed and breakfast, so rooms will book fast because of the holiday weekend. Any advise??

Any help on a romantic invitation to our engagement given by us....our relationship is not of your norm....we met on my soon to be's 2 week leave in a difficult time in my life and have been together for 2 years. We have lived apart for the entire 2 years, we have been through a deployment and a life time of goodbyes already. I really don't know anything about planning a wedding or what to put on out invites. Any help would be great. thanks

I have seen where people will "ring in the new couple" by having little silver bells tied to personalized ribbon. This is to avoid the environmental hazards of rice and the sticky mess of bubbles. Has anyone else ever seen this? Where could I purchase these?

Thank you!

My boyfriend is from NZ and I am from Spain. We will have our wedding in Spain. I know everything will be great as both our families are very openminded and chatty. Has anybody had a similar experience? I would love to hear about it!

My daughter is getting married the end of February. She didn't leave much time for planning and preparing! This is her second marriage, but first "wedding". She wants a really nice one, but she is very budget minded. They will probably have 100 - 150 guests. I sure would appreciate any creative suggestions that can cut down on expenses. One area is reception.......the groom does want a really great "party".........dance, drinks, socialization.. He does have a DJ friend that is providing his DJ'ing as a gift. Creativity is good for any part of the wedding.......it will not be a comletely traditional wedding. But she does want it very nice. She does have her wedding gown. Everything else is still in the planning stage though. Help!! The time is closing in fast! And money isn't easily available. Thanks for any ideas and suggestions as to where, how and what! (An outdoor wedding or reception is not an option.............it is located in a pretty chilly part of the country.

I'm in the middle of reading this book Diary of a mad Bride by Laura Wolf.
So the girl in the book has been asked by her bf if she would marry him,she says "yes" he pulls out the ring. She isnt to happy with the ring (but doesnt let on)...Its not a Diamond, its an Emerald.
And her Mother & Grandma have now, pages later in the book pointed out that ALL engagement rings should have a Diamond, and not Emerald...For what ever reasons.

Now my big Q has any women out there ever been given an engagement ring, by her Hubby to be and has hated it,thinking it was ugly and wasnt what she would have liked? And if so did you still wear it and do you still wear it?Or better still how do you tell the love of your life, you hate his taste of jewelry.

I have been dating someone in the military for about 2yrs and we have kinda talked about marriage and kids etc. However, he recently found out that he has to go back to Iraq, and this is when he know wants to marry me. I think this has to do with this new development. When i brought this up with him about 2mths ago, he said that we still have a lot of things that we need to do before marriage. Now... going to Iraq is his definite fate and he wants to all of a sudden marry me. I think maybe he's afraid that something will happen while he is there. Can someone help me with this?
