I had a wedding-job once for a friend's wedding and I was given a stationery set by Mudlark papers. I loved it. I am a young female, if that helps.
These boxes go for around $15 each. They come with notecards and cute envelopes.

Gifts are not necessary...the cake servers are part of the catering company and get paid pretty well. I'm not sure what a "book person" is, but I'm sure they aren't looking for a gift from you. I wouldn't worry about it.

We gave our ushers and readers each a bottle of nice California wine wrapped in a bag that matched our wedding colors (we got married in San Francisco). They seemed to really appreciate the geture and we didn't have to spend a lot of money.
