sure, why not? there's no rule that says you HAVE to go on a honeymoon right away. most people do it because they REALLY need a vacation after all the stress. i know i did. if you both work, or have children, etc, and you can't get away, wait until you have no worries, then go. you'll be more relaxed.

I think it is more than alright. Some people take the honeymoon later simply because the cost of the wedding is so staggering at some points and they can be financially drained and just want to save up a bit more in order to have the dream honeymoon they have always wanted. Some others wait because they have to situate their homes first, and get everything in order, which is easier after the wedding.
My fiance and I will be married in July 2008 and wont be having the honeymoon until later that fall or even in January. Our youngest will only be 4 so we will be having to get a sitter to come in for the week we will be gone.
So go ahead and wait!! It is up to you when you have it!

While there is nothing at all wrong with taking your honeymoon at a later date, a wedding is so very exciting and special that you might want to rent a room locally just for the night. It will be away from the phone; away from your everyday life and make the night wonderful. And it won't cost you that much.

Oh heck yeah! My husband works for a race team and we just got married in September but are getting ready to take our honeymoon the last week of December and first week of January since he can't take 2 weeks off durring the race season. We're actually leaving 3 months from the date we were married.

Absolutely. You can take your honeymoon whenever you want, or need, to. However, most people go right away to relax after the stress of wedding planning.

Sure, there are not rules about that.
It might be nice to at least go to a local bed and breakfast for one night, on your actual wedding weekend, just as a special night away. Some people call that a "mini-moon."

yeah some people get married and then a few months later they have the reception.. so yeah i don't see why it would matter, unless it would mean more to one of you to make it happen right after the wedding.. good luck and best wishes
