I'm getting married very soon and don't know if I should stay in Chicago (where I would be happier) or in the suburbs (where my fiancee prefers). She moved from overseas to be with me and we are planning on having kids next year.

I live in the suburbs and let me tell you, the city is still convenient to get to. The suburbs have perks too, better schools, cheaper gas, less (take that word lightly) traffic, safer neighborhoods and more land. I dont know what you want that only the city offers, but if you do move to the suburbs, it wont be like you can never go to the city.

Once you have kids, you wont be wanting to go out to enjoy the city nightlife as much anyway. You wont have time or energy most likely. If you work downtown, there are many trains out here that you can take to still get down there and avoid the long drive. Good luck!

Well, the burbs are overrated. But, since you are planning on having kids, I would move to the 'burbs. There, you can have a larger house and a place for your kids to learn to ride their bikes. You can always move back to the city when the kids are old enough to handle the big city.

Listen and trust me

I used to live in Chicago and it's a really nice place....but if u move somewhere like California....beware if u move to the valley u won't get snow

California is big and u have more attraction, but if most of ur friends r in Chicago then stay because u'll miss em a lot
