Well what you should do first is talk to your other half and see what kind of wedding you are looking at. Then you know how much money you are looking at. If money is a big problem for you i would suggest having a small wedding , maybe get married in someones home by the justice of the peace, then have a few friends over and have a pot luck supper. If you really love a person and want to spend the rest of your life with that person money shouldn't matter, besides its only a little party. Sometimes small is wonder full.

Limited income shouldn't deter anyone from getting married!
Weddings can be done on a very small budget. Instead of an elaborate ceremony, use a Justice of the Peace or a judge. Don't plan a big reception with catering and an open bar. Have a pot luck in the back yard or get some close friends and family together for a nice dinner. You don't have to invite your second cousin's girlfriend's mother.

You don't have a really big wedding if you really can't wait it does not matter. When i married my husband we got married at the registration office in Scotland (to make it a bit more special) because we could not afford to travel out of the country and he had smart trousers and a shirt and i bought a really nice white dress from debenhams and went to dinner at TGI Fridays with out two witnesses and a few friends that also wanted to visit Scotland. It cost us £600 and i was happy. If your really it love if theire is a will ther is a way

I think you should explain this situation to your expectant wife/husband.
If you truly love each other, waiting a bit longer while you both save up some money should not be a problem
Sometimes, many marriages end in Divorce because of financial difficulties,
therefore it is very wise of you to consider waiting.

Just invite close friends and family let them know that your short on cash so have everyone bring pot luck, and a bottle of wine. The wedding should be a celebration not a money sucking venture. And your close friends and family will understand.

Either get married by the justice of peace or just wait and save for a wedding.

You could get married at the justice of peace. cost less then 50.00 in most states with just two witnesses.
Or you could start saving and set a budget of 2000.00 and that could work. My wedding only costed me 2000.00 and that included a hall, booze I provided, the dress, bridemaid dress, tuxes for the groom, my father and best man, food, dj and honeymoon you can make it work. We only had like 40 guests.
