You just go around to local business and tell them you'll advertise their service or product at your wedding (your wedding will be a giant infomercial) if they give you free stuff. I don't think there is anything tackier. And I doubt many reputable businesses are going to need your endorsement.

Another way to have a wedding if you don't have to much money is to get family and friends to sponsar certin items. It's a mexican tradition it's call padrinos. Pretty much you get a padrino to pay for the photographer, food, ect. If it's a costly item then there are a few padrinos. For example for my best friend's wedding I was one of 10 people who contributed $100 for the hall. You do have to keep in mind that this is usally considered their gift to you.

Sponsors are only for events that will be media covered, so unless you wedding will be nationally televised, its safe to say that you might not get sponsored. However if you chose to try hire a professional wedding planner.

Wow, what a tacky idea. Please do not try this, or ask for money from the invited guests. Please show some degree of decorum.
Work out a budget of what you and your fiance can realistically spend, and stick to it. If it is less than you would like, either borrow the money from the bank, or better yet, save until you can. If you do the wedding sponsor, trust me, your guests will only be discussing how tacky it was in future.
