My separated "boyfriend" and I had a long talk. He said a lot of honest things including that he thinks he can work things out with his wife.

He says he cares about me and feels as though I have made him my life and he's throwing it in my face. He feels responsible for me and doesn't want to leave me with nothing. He wants to know that I have a plan to get on my feet and is willing to give me a place to stay.

I told him that I love him so much that I would give him up for his family. I told him that I don't want his life to be ruined any more and that I don't want to mess up any chance he has with his family. Then I gave back the keys to his apartment.

When we were leaving, he told me to think about everything and he would call tonight. I told him that nothing will change and we have nothing to talk about. Then I told him I love him again.

Why didn't he just accept the decision and go with it? Why tell me to think more and offer to call?

How often do you shave down there? I am just wondering how many women let themselves go.
Oh and for the record, since I am asking such a personal question, I do.

I've recently realized that the reasons why my relationship with my in-laws could be better is because I am not what they would like me to be. I'm speaking specifically of the females like Mother in law and Sister in law. If I am not catty, gossipy, have good manners, refuse to put down others, and try to generally talk about things of substance then I won't fit in. Surely I can just be me and one day they will realize that right? No other problems, husband is great, we are happy and don't have to see the trouble-makers very much.

I chose to say folks, because not all women feel this and some men do. For those that do, why do some get the feeling that they MUST get married?
I personally feel this, but I'm battling with why I even feel this way. My current relationship is like a marriage. We have known each other for 5yrs, been a couple and living with one another for 4yrs. It is an equal partnership and he is my best friend. I can't complain, yet I have this nagging feeling that I must get a ring. It has gotten to the point where I mentally made a note that if I don't get one within the next 4 years, I will move on. But why should I care?! If the relationship is so good, why do I want to ruin it by letting this nagging feeling for marriage get in the way?
So tell me why do some folks get this feeling? I know plenty of folks who get this marriage fever....but why?
I have some possible reasons as to why, but nothing that really makes sense as to why it hits a bunch of folks. What do you think?
