How do you communicate with your partner (this can also be non verbal)? What is your communication style, and is it effective? How do you improve, and how do you know you are improving?

Everyone is different. It took me a long time, and I am still working on it, that my boyfriend communicates his feelings through action. He stinks at using words. I am all about words. I constantly say how I feel.
Improving is all about understanding one another. Like I just said, It took me a while to figure out how my boyfriend communicates how he feels and I think that was a major step towards a healthy relationship. Learning is always a clear sign of improvment. Talking does help, but understanding one another and how they like to communicate is a huge help.

The most direct, effective and non-confusing way of communicating is to say things. Sometimes even this can be confusing, so you must be willing to stay the whole nine yards to make sure you both understand each other. Even in sexual situations, this is what works. Honesty is key.

We give more importance to listening to each other's point of view. When I say "listening" I mean truly understanding where the other is coming from...not just merely hearing each other because many times we don't interpret what the other person is saying to us correctly.
How do I know I'm improving? Less arguments.
