Marriage & Divorce - 9 October 2006

Do you believe some people have it in them to commit adultery while others do not. I recently divorced my husband - I found out he was having an affair. This was his second time. I would not or could not cheat. I even waited until out divorce was final before i started dating even though I had the opportunity. Why do some of us feel so strongly about adultery while other have no problems with it? Any suggestions?

My wife and I have been together for 5 years, and she has wanted a baby for about 2 years now. About a year ago we decided to plan for our first baby, we bought safe cars, paid off all our debt, traveled, did home improvements, etc. We decided to start in January 2007 because our house will be paid off in August 2007 and we will have plenty of money for a baby.

My wife has been getting more anxious lately about trying for a baby. We have 3 more months before our “starting” date and she is getting moody with me because she feels she has been waiting for years and the last few months have been torture for her. Two of her friends (who are have been with their boyfriends for less than 2 years) are pregnant, so now she is more upset then ever.

How do I get her to be patient for the last 3 months? I am excited too, but she is way anxious to start and I feel bad for telling her no, but we need to wait until January. I want all my ducks in a row before we start trying!

Help me!

We have been living together for almost a year now. We got married last month, now he's saying he wants to be separated from me because he can't stand my immaturity. He's 49 and I am almost 25.

I just don't understand, I stopped going out for him. Take good care of him when he sick....it is just sometime i am a little immature.... but why he married me in the first place.. i don't understand...

My family loves him because he is so good to them and i know that once they find out that we are separating, they will blame me.

I feel like he can do much more around the house when asked. When I do ask him he gets all "crazy" with me. He yells at me and our kids all the time for little small things. We both work so I do almost all the chores and cooking. I also need some time to chill to myself. I think he's just being selfish. Now he asked for a divorce. Any ideas???

So, I have been with this guy for over a year,officially. We have seen each other off and on for almost 4 years. Neither one of us has said the "L" word. I want to, but have been burned too many times when I do. I think he has the same dilemma. He is leaving town for a week and last year I wrote him a letter when he left that was pretty sweet. Would you be okay with your husband going out to dinner with a person of the opposite sex; with out you, and in another state,because the job your partner has is a truck driver. Then later told you about it, and said that he gave her his number so he could hook her up with one of his friends. yet she keeps calling your partner, and your partner calls her often. And she is also calling the friend that your husband is hooking her up with. so not only is she talking to your husband but she is also talking to his friend as well. He says that he is only on a friend basis with her...Is it okay for him to be friends with her, have dinner with her and for them to call eachother? reading many other girls lives about there men beating on them inspired me to write and ask for help. im originally from the uk but my boyfriend wanted to get married in las vegas.we came to las vegas and got married but loved it so we stayed for a month. im only 20 and my husband is 31.weve been together for 4 years. i didint want to get married but was pressured in to it. he told me i was moving with him to las vegas for a trial and if i didint like it we could move back. its been 2 years here and he wont let me go home. his family are very powerful people and have alot of money. i now havw two kids by him which were not planned i was on the pill at the time but love them none the less. he beats me to the point i cant move and at the minute have 2 black eyes, a swolen lip.he has broke my ribs and put me in hospital many times,im not in contact with my parents and they hated me when i moved away from them. i have no friends , no family and know he wil kill me. ive left him many time

I'm fairly well off and I want to get a Prenup drafted before I propose to my girlfriend but every time I bring up the subject she acts like it's horrible to even consider it and that it's bad to start everything off so negatively with "In the event of a divorce" etc... Like it's going to curse the marriage or something. It's pretty against her culture to sign such things but I refuse to get married without one. How do I warm her up to the idea?

I was looking at our cell bill the other day because our daughter ran the bill up to over $300. Well in my research I found where my wife had made call to a guy that she had feeling for over a year ago. (We were having problems and it was a guy she worked with, he knew of her situation and he gave her a nice long kiss one day in the hallway at work. I am sure it was one of those nights when she was working until we hours.) Anyway when I saw the number it made me suspecious so I checked past bill and it seems that she is calling him about every month. Don't know how many times they talk at work. He still works for the same company but is at a different location. I want to know if I should confront her or wait until I get more evidence?

My boyfriend and I have been together a year and a half. I'm 7 months pregnant but we are not married. He lost his job a few months ago and seems to have absolutely no desire to get another one. He always has excuses. When I get fed up and throw him out he always caomes back all " changed" and things look good for a few days. Then, it comes time for responsibility and he's back to doing nothing. I do love him and I used to think he loved me but I dont think so that much anymore. When I try to talk to him about helping out I'm "complaining"- a nicer word than what he uses. He says I take away his self esteem and make him feel worthless....

okay well what would any lady think if the telephone rang one day and she picked up and heard her husband say and i quote (man dude that ***** is so fine she dresses so badass and she's married) thats what i heard and just put it like this dumb *** dident think his phone had dialed my number!.i only heard that because then he found out that his phone was on and hunged up.i caled him right back and asked him wtf was he talking about he said(oh i was talking to a friend about an artist that comes out on t.v. thats how we men talk its all bullshit. so i asked him -k-k- well what artist is it,he said her name so i looked her up online,and guess what the person he was supposley talking about had never ever been married!.so i confrunted him and he sad oh no she's not married plus i never said she was.o-m-g! what the ****! i think my husband is thinking about another *****! what do ya'll think????

We have been together for 2 years and we have had many ups and downs. Today he decided he had enough. I don't know where to go from here. He siad for me to stay in the house and no have to worry with the bills, he would pay for everything and he loved me but love is not enough. He still wants to be firends with me, but I cannot.

I cannot stay here without him. I cannot sleep in our bed and see all of the things that we bought for our lives together. The house I set up for us can't be just for me.

It is past the point that sorry will fix us. If I call and appoligize it won't do any good. I don't think anything will make him come back to me. I scared and confused. Where do I go? I am still very young, only 20.

My parents never were involved in my life and going to them is not an option. All of my friends are married and I don't think staying with them is an option.

How do I heal from this? Anyone else who has been divorced advice please.

my soon to be ex wife and me had a mortgage for 3 years together and then i left the marriage due to repeated violence from her my name is still on the mortgage and it has now been 3 years since i left and in this time i have not paid towards the mortgage as i am unable to work for health reasons and she gets the interest paid for her due to being on benefits so only pays a very small amount each month since we bought the house 6 years ago it has increased in value by £72,000 my question is how would the courts decide who will recive what?
during the marriage my wife worked for most of the time and i looked after our daughter as i was unable to work
