So, I have been with this guy for over a year, officially. We have seen each other off and on for almost 4 years. Neither one of us has said the "L" word. I want to, but have been burned too many times when I do. I think he has the same dilemma. He is leaving town for a week and last year I wrote him a letter when he left that was pretty sweet. I am working on a new letter for this trip, but should I tell him face to face or write it in the letter?

You aren't saying marry me. If you Love him then tell him face to face.

He is going away for a week and you are going to let him go without saying anything.

Tell him to take care, be careful and you will miss him. Then give him a kiss look in his eyes and say I love you.

Dam lady. If you Love him tell him.

First of all, writing letters is so 5th grade. Baby girl you gotta get wit it.. Tell him that you've been burned to many times to let your heart get hit on one more time. But you've been with him for a long time and you LOVE HIM just say it.. Grab Life by the HORNS!! lol..(a little dodge humor) Seriously just tell him, dont ever take life for granted, he's leaving are you positive you'll see him again? Not to scare you but you gotta let him know honestly I think he feels the same way! GOOD LUCK..!!

When he leaves give him a little gift bag with a weeks worth of cards in it. Tell him to open a card for each day he is gone. Start out with a funny card and then gradually get cards telling him you miss him. The last card of the last day get a card telling him you love him. Let him take it from there when he gets home.

I think it is best to wait it out and tell him how you feel face to face.
Hearing it will make those three words much more romantic and special, he'll most likely say them back. Just be upfront and don't hold back.

After 4 years and he hasn't said it doesn't sound to encouraging to me. I would absolutely wait.

I dunno, doesn't sound like he wants to take it to the next level. You may be setting yourself up for a disappointment.
