Ladies : What is the differance between Confident and Cocky?

I was told by a female co-worker that I am way too cocky and I asked her what she meant by it and she said that I am too into myself and that I think I am better than everyone ( not true )

What is wrong with thinking positive about yourself?
I work toohard to get what I have so I shouldnt have to act like I dont dereve what i earned

Well, check it out: Here is the rule: If one person tells you are a duck, you can blow them off. Just one person's opinion. If two tell you, then assume they have been talking to each other. If a third person tells you are a duck,check yourself for webbed feet.

Confidence is somthing you know you have and are proud of it, Earning a promotion, getting a raise, buying a new car. Things like that. ...if you're good looking and you know it that's one thing if youre good looking and you tell everyone about it is another. Think of the things you do that could maybe be cocky. Dont talk about your self dont, dont be an asss whole.! Socialize with people, be more relaxed. IF somone complements you just say THANK YOU...dont go into detail how much it cost or where you got it from. And if it bothers you that much, consider taking your co-worker out for lunch and ask her what she ment by her remark ! GOOD LUCK!!

It is great to have confidence but don't act like you are better than everyone else. If she is saying you do that then maybe you should take a step back and rethink some of the things you say to people or how you act around others. Good luck

Confident men don't talk about how great they are but cocky men do. Men who have the biggest ego are just plain cocky. Woman can see cocky men a mile away and its a turn off. Cocky men are arrogant!!!!!and in most cases have an insecurity that they try to cover up.
Confident men don't "try" they just "are".

If you can't walk by a mirror without looking at yourself-cocky.
If you are aware of your own value-confident.
If you think you can treat people bad because you're just SO hot-cocky.
You know you look good, but you also know that is not all you have going for you-confident.
You look down on or make fun of people who are broke/ homely/fat-cocky.

There is nothing at all wrong with thinking positive about yourself, but you have to be aware of other traits that are more important than looks. Sense of humor, honesty, loyalty and a caring nature.

It is all in the presentation of your confidence. You have obviously said some things that make you seem cocky not confident. You are using "I" and "Me" way too much.

Confidence is how you carry yourself. Cocky is someone going into detail on how good they are at something. It is one thing if someone ask you how good you were at something and you reply that you are great at it then just blurting out saying I am so great at what I do.

confident men don't have to show people that they're worthy. they are great because they are great. there is no need to prove himself. he's ok with who he is. think Pop-eye - I yam what I yam.

cocky men have a need to prove themselves, spout off, brag, etc. ********* is the exact *opposite* of confidence. cocky is rooted in insecurity and not being ok with yourself. it's like you are constantly trying to make yourself *seem* worthy because deep down inside, you don't believe you truly are.
