When one sits down to analyse the average life time of a relationship, one would realise that lots of people are to eager to join a relationship, which they eventually do, and lots of them fall out of those relationships much faster than they entered them.... and in this era where we have lots of marriage counsellors it still beats me that we are not able to keep into stable relationships with our partners.... pls someone explain this to me...

My wife and I separated in November of 2005 after 23 years of marriage. We own 3 properties....no money to speak of, and both have good jobs. I have been paying child support for my two sons ages 15 and 16. Found out yesterday that she had been "laid off" from a job she has held for 5 years. She has more seniority than other people in her office, and the company is a state bridge contractor with plenty of work....company in business for 15 years.
My lawyer is 81 years old and has MS. Her attorney is a shark with a reputation for winning. Any ideas on postponing final hearing, and is this "lay off" thing some kind of legal posturing? As things stand now she wants all three homes and all monies including her retirement account (I left a good job and stayed home for 2 years with my boys so she could get her job....$750.00 per week)

How can I get my wife to cook dinner faster? When I come home from work she isn't done cooking my food, so I usually end up have to give her a few light whacks across the face but nothing too serious. I don't want to have to discipline her, but it is my right as a husband. Please give me advice on how I can make my woman cook faster!!!!

why do people see it as so important to get married?
i am trying for a baby with my partner and have had different reactions mostly good but some people just say but your not married.
me and my boyfrined live together, love and trust each other completely. as far as i can see a wedding is a lot of money for a party and a piece of paper. why does us not being married bother people? neither of us are religious and as far as i can see (and divorce rates aggree) just cos ur married it doesnt mean ur more likely to stay together forever.
your views please!

I have picked a "best answer" for a few of my questions & Yahoo! says I never did. Also there was a very disturbing question posted by a man who said he wanted to kill his wife in a painful way & not get caught. How does that make it on here & why is it not traced? This is serious!!!

I am married but I enjoy his companionship and relationship. He did find evidence that his wife has been cheating for over 5 years she keeps denying it. I'm the only one who he feels comfortable talking about it with. He says things have been going good recently with his wife but he is still afraid that the first argument they have or 6 months down the roead she'll go back to him. I like him alot. I did tell him that his wife left him emotionally and physically 5 years ago when it started and that it will always be there in his mind somewhere. Help

For example, I read once that bald men have more testosterone and are more likely to cheat. It also said the same for men with supervising positions at work, and men who are not overweight.

I have a wonderful job and house near the ocean here in LA, and I spend 10 days a month with my daughter. Her mom wants me to move, but we just don't get along. I've been stuck, scared to make the move, for almost a year, and my daughter is growing up fast. I'm single and I'm not meeting anyone in LA since I'm gone almost half the time. I'm kind of scared to get involved with another woman too, after being with my ex, who is pretty controlling. Help! I still have a dream of having a wife and family that works, and am lonely living this split life. But so very happy when I'm with my daughter. Her mom will not consider moving bac here, and I have no legal rights to get them here, as we were never married. People say follow your heart, but that hasn't worked out so well in the past. Your comments will be much appreciated. I'm so ambivalent it is painful.

I want a baby bad and he doesn't,, how do I get him to at least think about it??

He says he's too old ( he's 35)
that he's scared about money,,
that he thinks he will be terrible at parenting,, even though he has raised my two kids for most of their lives.
I just don't understand what his hang up is?

The other day I had an argument with my husband. He asked why don't I pick up a wet towel off the floor. I asked him why he couldn't do it, and why do I always have to do everything. I throw out the trash, do dishes, cook, do laundry, drive kids to school, etc. I just didn't see why he could'nt do it. He said " I've done nothing but pay your way". That really effected me like a slap in the face, not to mention it hurt. I never felt this marriage as being 50/50. He feels he makes the money, he has more say in everything. It's like I'm there for a free ride and it's not suppose to feel that way, being that I can't work because I had two of his kids to take care of. He makes me feel little all the time. I just wanted to know if you would have gotten upset or angry??? I've told him how upset I was by that and he doesn't apologize, he just justifies what he says by saying I started it... Only serious answers please.......
