Marriage to me is when you are ready to settle down with one mate. You have to get all of your skeltons out of the closet first. You have to be content that there is no other mate in your life you would rather stay with unless for some accountable death that seperates the two of you and then you must love againd and move on. Life is very funny sometimes when these things happen and when we lay down the morals of right and wrong, but in the end....everyone must understand that marriage is not permanent. It is a temporary bond between the two until seperation comes from death or divorce. If it is death, then the option to remain a widwow or widower wouls soley depen on the person, but for me lets say for an example of a 40 years marriage...I would remain a widower. It is painful enough to have lost your love of the life and start all over again...hell no.

Marriage is a commitment between 2 people to love and respect each other. It is not a 50/50 thing like many people believe. No way are you always going to agree. Sometimes it may be 100/0 but will adjust itself at another time because one of you have to give in here or there to the other., Just remember you didn't get married to get divorced. Divorce is too easy. Work at it and it will work out. Don't get married if you are still attracted to others. Keep dating if you are not 100 percent sure this is what you want.

Marriage is an institution! Well to me marriage means nothing if there is no committment. Marriage is really a piece of paper and some people think just because you are married to someone that will keep them together, not necessarily, some people feel it's a security blanket. I think the only reason one should get married is for legal reasons. Me and my wife are totally committed to each other and we don't really believe in marriage, more in committement. Then reason we got married is because in order to get health, auto, home insurance, we needed to make it legal. Makes sense???

If you are talking about my parents and my wife's parents, I would agree with "badkitty."
My wife and I have been married for 32 years. We occasionally fight. Our parents fight every day. We found two things we can do together; movies and 1-3 day mini-vacations at theme parks. Our parents have NO hobbies together. We go shopping together. Our parents have separate cars, separate checking accounts, separate food in the frig and cabinets, etc. Never go anywhere together.
Marriage can be great, or it can be a constant battle.

Two people that love each other despite all their flaws! Accepting each other for who they are and having their best interests at heart! It is a partnership in which two people support each other in their hopes and dreams! Helping one another to succeed in life! In my marriage our strengths and weaknesses are opposite so we help each other in the areas we struggle in. Your spouse should be your best friend someone you can count on, depend on and lean on. Eventually you become one.

Marriage is a serious vow that a couple makes in front of God. Vows of marriage should be taken very serious and something you have to know that you are ready for. I take marriage serious it is oath that I made my God and attend to keep my promises to God.
