Family - November 2007

Ok so I live in Inglewood Ca. [[ghetto]] And ive been wanting to move to Utah for quite a while now... Ive been there 3 times and I love it. I Also have an uncle and cousins over there. My sister in addition is going to move over there in like 3 weeks, shes already 18 so my parents cant stop her. Since she is my only sis I really love her and want to move to Utah...

My parents in the other hand are really close minded which sucks cause im not gonna give up till we move.

If anyone knows a way to convince them please tell me.

Here are some things ive already used.
- The houses are way bigger and more affordable.
- I go to a charter school which is a lil too dificult for me and a public school would be easier for me and the ones here arent good schools.
- We have family in Utah.
- I will raise up my grades.
- I will be happier in general, cause I do get depressed.
- My dad can get a transfer since he works in the LAX he can work at the SLC Airport.

My wife wants to speak with her, but I don't think it would be good. I'd rather see her just control her actions and try to not do the things that cause arguments, or to not allow my sister in law to bother her so much.

He is 9. He kisses me it is not the normal hello goodbye on the cheek kiss he gets on top of me and kisses me on the lips and this is way more then just once. I really hate it when he does this. I tell his mom all he hears is Noah stop it and thats it. He also grabs my butt. I can't belive his parents let this go by. I yell at him and once I hit him not really hard but hard enough. I just got off the phone with my dad after not talking to him for 4 months, and now I feel depressed. I have always try to form a bond with my dad and I always felt rejected by him. I finally gave up about 4 years ago. I never really call him if we talk its because he called me. Well every time he calls I always end up feeling stupid and down because of things he says. I know I need to stop the relationship for my emotional health. I just now how to do it. Has anyone else gone through this type of thing? Does anyone have any advice? Part of me just wants to cuss him and his wife out and tell the I want nothing to do with them. But I don't know if I would ever have the guts to do it.

My family and I hate one set of our cousins, the one that goes to my school has lunch the same time as my friends and i. She sits next to us all the time. I usually sit next my friend and 2 of my other friends from a different class. We have assigned tables to sit at and the only table that we can sit at to be next to each other is the one that she somehow always sits at. A couple of weeks ago people were saying that i look a lot like her. i asked my friends and they said i don't look anything like her. How can i somehow ignore her without her becoming offened and telling the rest of the family. I try not to be mean but sometimes i just come off as such a snot. P.S. My parents don't want me talking to her either. Please help!!!

my friends hate my friend jenn but she needs a place to stay. her mom just kicked her out and she says she has a week to get out of the house. shes only 15! and she has no were to go because her dad just moved out of state. everything would work out perfectly if she stayed with me she would have a ride to school, i have a extra bed. but were a little behind money so i think they will say no. but she would only stay 2 weeks. but my mom let my brothers friend paul stay for two weeks and his other friend stay for a month, so why cant i let her stay for two weeks. but im asking how do i convince them to let her stay? also they hate her because we were stupid a year ago and took these pills and we o.d. also she had alot of problems at home so my parents thought she was mentally unstable but she got counciling so shes better its just her and her mom got in a fight so she cant deal with her anymore and shes makign her leave so how can i convince my parents to let her stay?!?!?!

I really want to live with my dad. I feel uncomfortable at my mom's house because she it still going out with the man that she cheated on my dad with and I know he is always at the house when I'm not. And also because my mom has a struggling alcohol addiction. I smell it in all the cups she leaves around the house. I feel bad because her dad, my grandpa, isn't doing very well and is in the hospital and my grandma is now living with her. We just went to visit my brother who is gone for 2 months due to his depression and grudge against my mother because she cheated. When we were there she told the leader that she was sorry for her mistakes and that she was sober. That just isnt true! Yes, she was sober at the moment but she knew that wasnt what he meant. How should I deal with living in the same house as a person who does absoultely everything wrong, and I get blamed for it? I have court papers stating that my husbands ex and him alternate weekends with the kids. Holidays and special days (mothers and fathers day, thaksgiving and easter) supersede the schedule, does this mean if we have thanksgiving and it was her weekend, that the schedule now flips, since she lost her weekend. or is her weekend just voided?

If a teacher sent home a note with a child to be signed by their parent and the child was from a polygamist family where his father had several wives, who should the signer of the note be? Would it be appropriate for the child to go to one of the other wives (not his biological mother) and have her sign the note or is it required that one of his biological parents signs the note? Do polygamist families have certain guidelines in place for such instances? How should a teacher respond if the note was signed by one of the other wives?

when i said i wanted to learn to drive my parents didnt care, took em 2 months after my birthday to finally get my into a driving school. just recenty (im a 10th grader) have been actually trying in school for the first time in years because i want to be successfull in life. parents didnt care. i want to go to a nice college and get a great job (dont care). its just, anything i do, the makes a difference for the better even if my parents know about it, they just don't show any enthusiasm. they arent drunks or anything, thats just dont ******* give a rats ***. all they notice are the bad things about me. i have like no friends at all and am stuck around the house because i dont even have a car so i cant get anywhere and my mom wont drive me anywhere (no joke) and my dad is always at work. sometimes i just feel like i wanna stab myself in the ******* chest. i have nothing to look forward to anymore, and on top of that my grandma died 2 months ago, and im depressed. ive been depressed....

Every so often, someone asks a question about daycare- the cost of daycare or something to do with the daycare their child attends..

And, without fail, there will be several stay at home moms who chime in about "loving your child enough not to put them in daycare."

What about single moms? Of course it's not an ideal situation- but surely they can't be expected to stay at home with their children- who would feed them or pay the bills?

I work from home- 2 days out of the week, I go out and my husband stays home with the kids. I'm a photographer- I travel to my locations on these days.

Before I met my husband, I was a single mother of one. I didn't like leaving her, but I had no choice. I understand that having a parent home is nice, but I don't think many stay at home mothers realize that it's actually a luxury that not all families can afford..

My dad is a habitual, functional alcoholic who is EXTREMELY emotionally abusive. Every Sat. night I drive 1.5 hours to pick him up from his favorite bar where he drinks from before I wake up in the morning until he calls me to come get him at whatever time he deems necessary in order for him to chug however many drinks he wants. I do not want to be an enabler, but if I leave him there to drive home himself, he will probably kill someone else. Then it would be my fault. I do not have any resources for any kind of help. I have tried talking to him when he his sober, but nothing has changed and he is just as mean/mushy sober as he is drunk. I cannot tell anyone at school...it is a small town and my mom works there....I cannot contact Alateen/Alanon bc mom does not approve of outside help. I am 17 and my sister is 12...I have to go to college next year, but I don't want to leave this for my sister to deal with this, my responsibility....not hers....I don't know what to do. He goes against what I wish for our son. Our son just turned 1 years old. My husband just fed our son garlic and 3 oz. of tea! He told me he was giving our son milk, so he lied!

My mom died of liver disease when I was 14. My father still drinks. I have a career and a family of my own now. I have no brothers or sisters. I am doing very well in my life but now I have so much resentment watching my father sit and drink all day. His health is deteriorating due to his lifestyle. It is to the point where I just don't want to have anything to do with him. I am resentful in the fact that he never took care of me when I was little but now I'm expected to take care of him. I am the type of person that you take care of your loved ones but I can't stand to even talk to him. He shows up at functions obviously drinking. He is almost 70. He is way too old to be doing this but has done it his entire life and will never change.

Any advice?
