Parents who love their kids intensively, naturally become over protective for their kids. They are all the time worried over their complete safety. The kids fail to recognize the love aspect and go with a wrong notion that the parents are controllers and kill-joys.

I think that in general it sucks to be a teenager. You are not quite an adult, but you aren't a little kid anymore. Parents sometimes have a hard time letting go of the little kid and embracing the young adult. Yes, to a certain extent they control you. As long as you live in their house, you have to follow their rules and that is a form of control. But parents don't do it just to keep you from having fun or anything like that. They are just trying to protect you and most (MOST) of the time they are using their own experiences that they have learned from to make their decisions. Parents were teenagers once, and did a lot of dirt in their own time, and got in trouble for it. That's why they completely freak out when they see their children doing the same things.
Just understand that it is done out of love...most of the time. Some of the time (as a parent i have to admit this) they are being stubborn, or are having a hard time letting go. Parents not only should make decisions because they have to because they are the adults, they should do it because they love their children, and DON'T want them to make the same mistakes or get hurt.

Sorry for the long answer, but I had to be honest...as a parent of a teenager who sometimes loses her mind, and thinks that I am such a ***** for not letting her have fun, or do what she wants...but I know she knows I love her.
