him out to the street, his mother wants nothing to do with him either. Dad lives in Burlington, Iowa & mom in OK. We brought him into our home, he was here for 5 days before his dad even reported him missing, mind you not a run away yet....when he arrived the 1st nite it was late so we all sat in the morning & talked, we called the local police department, the County Sheriff's office so we were on the up & up....we went & did the things we needed to do such as school, etc. to get him ready & now his dad has decided he is going before the judge to have a warrant issued for a run away...my question is this he turned 16 on 7-25....he says he will not go back to his dad's he will run hard & far away...his dad we learned has kicked him out 6 -7 times each time other than the last he has slept under bridges or wherever he could find & food he found whatever way he could.......how old does a child have to be to be able to say I refuse to live with you or come home? Please We need help here!!

My parents are really controlling and they think the world revolves around them. "Talking It out" is something not in their vocabulary. Its like i'm living in the 1900s in a dictatorship. no, it wsa even better in 1900s.

If i moved out, i could easily pay for my rent and skul with no trouble.

My husband and I went to visit an old friend of his. He has a wife and twin 4 year old girls. The wife was at work and the guy had a bunch of his friends over dressing a deer someone had killed hunting. The girls were filthy and dressed in rags. The house was atrocious with filthy floors, clothes everywhere, and even half eaten food (days old) lying around in the floor. The girl's toys were all torn up and they had colored all over the walls and floors with magic markers and crayons. We've been there before and the house was a mess so I know it stays that way. One of the girls finished off her dad's beer while he just grinned. My husband is mad and says I'm too uptight and judgmental because I commented on how bad it was there. He says to look at how happy they all are. Am I too uptight? My kids are teens (clean and well behaved) and my husband doesn't have kids so I can't compare if it were his kids. So am I a prude?

My son died at birth and we had him burried in the local grave yard and I see him alot but my life is taking turns I never expected and I have alot of thoughts about leaving the town I am in. Should I feel guilty about leaving where my son is? I know I have to think about my life as it is now but I wouldn't be there to visit him all the time.

I just recently got engaged about three months ago and have since been living with my in-laws in arizona. I love them dearly and appreciate them beyond anything but I just can't take not having my own space and privacy. I have talked things over with my fiance and have come to the decision of moving out and getting a three bedroom apartment with him and one of my very close female friends. She's coming down this weekend from cali and will stay with us and the in-laws until the three of us get an apartment and she gets a new job. Is this a good idea? We plan to get a place that my fiance and I can afford without her just incase something happens. I want to do the right thing. I also want to help her out. I need some serious advice and FAST !

Ok, I use to live with my mom till I turned about 6-7 and my dad always paid her child support.
Then occasionally my mom would by me a shirt or something
when I would go wit her.
When I turned about 12 my mom moved to Arizona, I went to
her house every 3-4 months and she would spend about 200-300
dollars on me.

Now, she moved to Iowa and I'm 15 in High School since last year
and I can't visit her as often. I go to her house During Christmas, Spring Break, & Summer Vacation and she spends about $300
dollars on me.
Plus, She buys the tickets every time I go which is usually around
$200.
My Dad has to start paying my Ex StepMom child support about 600
every month for my 3 year old half sister and brother.
For my brother its only like $350!
I asked her if she could send me money since its been starting
to get cold, and she said she would send money when I come
for Christmas and I said but its already cold. Then she said
ok I'll send $200.
I dont think thats enough!

This is so ridiculous my girlfriend is always taking care of her mother. She will come maybe 2 nights a week on a good week. Should I be mad? sometimes I feel bad but honestly her mom has been bad to her and she don't deserve her to take care of her. All of her other kids want to put her in a home.

Ok, long story. My husband and I have a 6 month old daughter my mother-in-law's first grandchild and she had all boys. Everytime my husband and I see her all she can do is talk about her nephew and his wife and baby. Which are all the same age as my husband and baby but we are not close at all.
She is always forcing pics of them on us and talking about them pretty much non stop, and we never ask about them. She even made their daughter a baby blanket and sewed her name on it. And didn't make one for her granddaughter. My husband has already talked to her about this, he told her that we really didn't need to hear about them all the time if we want to know we'll ask and its like its worse. Also my husband is a police officer and her nephew is in the military and she has all kinds of pics of him in his uniform in her house and even her car and not one of her own son in his uniform. And it really makes him feel bad about himself. I don't want my daughter to feel like him. what to do?

Because from what i have seen and have proof of, parents hit their children when they dont listen and behave. But when it comes to fights in school, girls will beat up other girls, because they wont listen either. Dont you think that if you were around the age 14, and you were calling ur mother or father horrible words or cussed behind their backs and they found out, don't you think they would hit you? The kids who get hit as a child, beat others up. thats wut i think as a 8th grader :\

I'm 17 and have never had a sister or brother in my life. my mom just recentely got a foster kid in. At first I felt bad for her but now she's just turned into a complete brat and it's because of my mom. My mom never punishes her when she throws my stuff, hits the animals, and doesn't listen to either of us. She's also learned that if we are going somewhere she doesn't wanna go all she has to do is throw a fit or complain she's sick and we don't go. It's putting mine and my mom's life on hold. Even though we both know she's not really sick. This has really seperated my mom and I. I'm planning on moving in with my boyfriend with in the next year and I don't wanna leave my mom feeling as if I abandoned her. but the biggest problem is is when she does something I usually get in trouble for it. because I'm supposed to be watching her but the thing is I'm not the parent she is is there any advice you can give me to talking to my mom about this problem. or just dealing with the little girl.

I have a brother who is a violent alcoholic and borderline retarded in intelligence. We don't know what to do with him.

He can't get a job because of his criminal record.

He can't keep a job because his alcoholic temper eventually flares up.

He can't live with anyone, not my parents or even a roommate, because of his problem.

My parents have been shelling out lots of cash to keep him in a rental apartment but it is becoming a financial burden. They have considered investing in property to give him a place to live (and not waste money on rent) but it is a risky investment.

I don't feel it should be my parents' problem but their attitude is that they need to do something because he can't seem to take care of himself.

What options does my family have in dealing with my brother?

My 15 year old daughter just came to live with me. She was living with her father from age 10 to 15.

We are living on our own in an apartment now. We were living with my parents. I live in a different state from my ex-husband.

I am to the point where I dread evenings with her. She complains and is always unhappy no matter what I do for or with her. I feel that I am going home to a long, unhappy face each evening.

I try my best to do things with her that she will enjoy and help her study, but it does not help.

Its now that I have a sinking feeling when I drive home as to what complaints I will have to face and deal with.

Will this ever end or is there a way to effectively deal with it?
