To The First Dragon: They are always telling me not to get in trouble, not to get drunk, not to use drugs, they only like me hanging around with certain people, they don't like me "having fun" with guys, they don't like me staying out late, they don't like me walking places on my own, they have even admitted that they prefer me to be with them because then they know exactly what i'm doing, they still treat me like a baby, hugging me etc. . .
They wont ever hit me.
All my mates olders brothers are really horrible to them but mine are not. (There's 2 of them by the way)

I don't know if there is a single reason as to why older brothers are overprotective, but I am so glad that they are. My older brother was still introducing me to his friends as his "baby sister" when I was 52. He passed away very suddenly a short time after that and I really miss him.

Different guys, different reasons:
Wants to attract girls making them think hes all Mr. Perfect and stuff.

They care and thats the only way the show it

So they can gain your trust to either sneak in your diary or steal your money

just want your trust

Practising being protective so if the father dies people wont laugh at him for trying to be the man of the house

practicing for a future family he might have in mind

Billions of reasons.

You don't give any details, so I don't know whether he's overprotective or not.
Your older brother knows more about guys than you do, being one and having guy friends and being older than you. He may just be realistic.

brothers are overprotective because they don't want anything happening to their younger siblings.
