I'm 17 and have never had a sister or brother in my life. my mom just recentely got a foster kid in. At first I felt bad for her but now she's just turned into a complete brat and it's because of my mom. My mom never punishes her when she throws my stuff, hits the animals, and doesn't listen to either of us. She's also learned that if we are going somewhere she doesn't wanna go all she has to do is throw a fit or complain she's sick and we don't go. It's putting mine and my mom's life on hold. Even though we both know she's not really sick. This has really seperated my mom and I. I'm planning on moving in with my boyfriend with in the next year and I don't wanna leave my mom feeling as if I abandoned her. but the biggest problem is is when she does something I usually get in trouble for it. because I'm supposed to be watching her but the thing is I'm not the parent she is is there any advice you can give me to talking to my mom about this problem. or just dealing with the little girl.

children who hit animals have issues. throwing things is also a sign of inner anger/emotional problems. your mother needs to nip this in the bud, and if you feel the foster child needs therapy, then get in touch with her social worker or whomever is in charge.

i'm sure this foster child is suffering some emotional pain, and is acting out because of it. your mother's giving in to her and treating her like an infant, is not helpful.

perhaps there is someone who can help?

Try to talk or socialize with ur foster sister. Is she is bratty, tell your mom ur feelings and all that other mushy stuff.

I feel like Dear Abby right now. Yuck. =I

well...you're gonna have to. if you are to save yourself. start looking out for yourself, cause your mom is not. if you can...lock your things either in a truck with a padlock, or lock your bedroom door. i wouldn't trust the lock on the door...so a truck with a padkock will be best for some of your most treasured items.
