You feel bad for yourself because this is an upsetting thing to go through.

You're inventing a completely bogus issue (why would your boyfriend blame YOU?) as a way of not dealing with how upsetting it is when your parents plit up.

If your boyfriend is a completely sub-human moron who doesn't care about you at all, it's possible he'd blame you.

But if he's a human being with more than one brain cell who cares about you at all, he won't.

If he loves you, it won't matter. Despite what his "ideal girl" is. If his parents love you or at least like you, they won't care either. They just want their son to be happy, and if marriage is a possibility, then he is obviously happy.

divorce is difficult on the kids, even if they are grown up kids.

your boyfriend isnt' marrying your parents, he is marrying YOU. you and your parents are all different people.

take care.

aww this makes me sad. somehow it seems like we're forever linked to what our parents do. but we're not. your parents actions are theirs...not yours. if he's a good man, he'll do everything he can to support you during this tough time.
