Family - October 2007

My 4 year old daughter is a terror. I don't think that she even has it in her to be good. However, she is good at school. At home she is always screaming, telling everyone no, will NOT listen, won't clean up her toys, NOTHING. I've tried being calm, yelling, time out, taking toys, reward system, everything... nothing works.
My 10 year old step son is not much trouble but is very mean and lazy. He doesn't use much comon sence either. He won't help out unless you ask him a few times and this is for even the simplest of things. Basically, he doesn't like me. He's never had to clean his room or do his laundry till I came around. 6 years later, it still bugs him.
My 11 year old step daughter prides herself on being mean and rude. She actually brags about it. She is also VERY argumentative. Even when she's wrong she'll argue till she's blue in the face. She treats everyone around her like crap and I'm sick of it.
They're OUT OF CONTROL. What can I do?

i am a senior and my parents seem to hate me, i came home last saturday an hour late because i was having an important conversation with my gf, and i told them i was going to be late and nowi'm grounded for a whole month! i was grounded for half the summer and so far 3 months of combined time this year. they also hate my girlfriend. they're rude to her and tell me we're too serious and that we spend too much time together and that they're tired of her. my parents have some set plan for me and now under my groundation they have me living it out exactly as they hoped. i'm done dealing with them, they said they wouldn't make my senior year hell but they lied, i get grounded for every little thing. i can't wait for college so i dont have to see them again. how they act in these next ten months are going to reflect my attitude towards them for the rest of my life, and so right now they'll be lucky if i even send them xmas cards. any opinions anyone? can anyone relate?

i asked my mom to buy me a new cell phone because my other one broke and im low on cash right now,but no matter what she refuses.i dont understand it because she brought my brother a phone and im older than he is! im in college and i work hard in school so why could it be that she is treating her children different? i mean is this fair? what should i do ?

do you think its better to be born to a young single mother around maybee 19-23, still living with her parents, and no dad around? your always at school, but when your home she always pays attention to you. then when your about 8 she gets married to a man who doesnt like you, makes fun of you, hits you, etc.basically your whole life changes, you have new baby sisters, basically your the black sheep of the family, leteraly you even have dorker skin than the resst of the family.

or is better to be born to a mom whos happily maried to her husband then one day when your about 3 they get a divorce. so you live with you mom one week and your dad the next. both parents spoil you rotten.then one day when your about 8 your dad gets married to a women, your still the center of attention, and pretty soon have new baby sisters, and also a step sister, whom you get along with most of the time. and your step mom trys her hardest to get along with you, and pretty much does and spoils you also?

the other day i told my wife in a disscution that "if i find out my daughter is sexually active b4 she is atleast 18 i will go nuts and even at 18 i wouldn't be happy about it " she then asked what i would do if i find out my son is sexually active b4 he is 18 and i replyed "i'll be damn proud!!" she thought i was wrong to be more protective of my daughter in this matter
i told her that i know my son could catch an std or get a girl pregnant but thats not really the issue because i hope i will do a good enough job educating both my children about such things b4 it's to late for me it's about innocence i love both my children the same but my son will always be my son even when he becomes the responsable man i hope we can raise him 2b but my daughter will always be my little princess even when she becomes the responsable woman i hope we can raise her 2b. and i will always be more protective of her than him.
is my wife or me right or wrong??

My brother is 19 and lives with his girlfriend.
He is always getting into trouble or wrecking his car which therefore costs my parents a lot of money to fix. My parents are always in a bad mood and aren't able to get me the things I need because they are too busy spending time and money to clean up his messes.
My brother only thinks of himself and doesn't take anything seriously. He works at a fast food place and uses his money to make his car payments and buy drugs and thats it.
I'm afraid that my parents aren't going to let me drive or get a job when I want to because they're afraid I will end up an idiot like him.
I strive to be the perfect child everyday.
I do chores without being asked, maintain good grades, and don't get into trouble. But all their attention is always focused on my brother's latest incident.
Is there anything I or my parents can do?

This really is crazy! My mother had been having an affair with a man for 21/2 years. Not only did she cause me to have an unbelievable amount of stress, she caused it on the whole family. She lives 800 miles away and I found that he threatened my life while I was pregnant with my daughter in June. He didn't directly threaten me but left a message on my mother's cell phone. Well tonight, I found out that he now has threatened my 8 week old baby girl. Again by leaving a message on her phone. My mother broke up with him and he is beyond mad. To top this all off, he is a multi-millionaire that has many "connections". My husband talked to my mother and told her that it is either she can never see this man again, or she can never see her grand daughter. If you all are wondering, I'm 26 and my mom is 41. Yeah, I know she was young. I am so upset and that's putting it lightly! We can't use the voicemail that he left because he accessed her account and deleted it. Help!

I was with my ex 4, 4 years. we had a little girl, n that seemed to change how we was, always on, off. then i discovered i was pregnant again, n planned to get rid {sorry i know that sounds cold} He begged me not 2, saying that we'd make as a family. as soon as my son was born, he left me saying he needed space. He hasnt made no effort since, never calls, texts. he hasnt 1ce spent ne'time with his son, my little girl never got a 2nd birthday card. but then i get texts saying that him n his horrible mother wanna c my babies. This as happened so many times on n off 4 the past 8 months. My babies need consistency. There not toys u can play with when it suits. n i've told them this. Now xmas is cuming up n i know all the s**ts guna start again.. Wat do i do. bcoz its about my babies not me. I can just c them hurting them, Well my girl, coz my boy has only had me 4m birth. my parents think i'm anorexic. I am so not anorexic! I love food and I eat all 3 meals every day with snacks and dessert. I eat just as much as I always have. I am not fat- I'm 113 lbs and 5' 5". im 14. the BMI calculator says i'm healthy. so did my doctor. I wear a size 2 or 4 in jeans. I wore my sisters skinny jeans and cowboy boots to show my parents my halloween costume I'm planning as a cowgirl and they were like "you have lost a lot of weight. you should eat more. i'm surprised you fit into your sisters jeans." my sister had always been super skinny. she's 5'8" and 110 lbs. she is almost 16. my parents have always labeled her the skinny one. everyone thinks of her as the skinny one. now that i'm getting taller, my parents think im getting skinnier but im just growing! high metabolism runs in my family and its just normal. It hurts my feelings that they accuse me of being anorexic or bulemic when i'm just normal. I talked to my sister and she said the same thing. i'm normal right?

why do I feel like , I will be losing her?
she is a very good girl and respects my opinion.
she has her own life ;however, with her boyfriend of 1 year.
(GOOD GUY) good for her!
she is my youngest. she is a good a respectful and beautiful girl.
why do I feel like I'm loosing her, when she respects my rules and does all I tell her. she is still a senior in school and have never had a problem with her.

My sister is 15 years old. She parties alot and comes in really late, she curses way too much, she disrespects my parents and curses them out and tells them horrible things, she beats me (her older sis but we're the same size, I just hate fighting), she pushes my mom around, she once tried to stab my brother, we recently found pot in her things. But my mom has been so blind and just lets my sister brain wash her. That when anybody says something about her she gets mad and stands up for her. She says that we "treat her bad" and its why she has turn like this. My mom is so wrong b/c I've always try to be my sister's best friend and she pushes me away. She treats me like trash and takes advantage of me all the time, in front of my mom and my mom does nothing. I told mom she's gone over the limit and I quit. I'm too behind in my college classes trying to deal with all this. Sometimes I recent my mom, I want to move out! My sister ran away and my mom doesn't know what to do.

How can a father call his own daughter a stupid wh*re and useless because she will go into the real world and get pregnant and he will disown her. He's said so many manipulative and demeaning things to me throughout my life, and he thinks it's because he was trying to discipline me. When i finally stood up to him and told him to stop talking to me that way, he stoped talking to me and hasn't for the past 5 or 6 months. He wont even look at my face if he were to see me in a room. How can a father do that?!

I thought I was the daughter of a Russia princess when I found I was adopted (age 6). Found out she lives in my town and I found her in the phone book and rang her when I was 26. She said she got rid of me cos her husband was coming home from jail and I wasn't his. That aside I had a wonderful life with my family. In my job I drive past her house and saw her coming out her door one day so I pulled up, went across and said who I was. She was pleased to see me, nice and said she's like to see me again. I said I would get in touch. This was maybe 2 years ago. I'm now 46 and she's well in her 80's. She's still alive cos her house hasn't changed. I never told my 'mum' I had anything to do with her. My kids said go see her else I would end up regretting it. What would you do?

My husband's youngest sister came to live with us who was 19. While wiating for her VISA to be approved I fixed up the extra bed room. I asked her what color she wanted it and she said a light pink. So I painted it and baught a nice queen size bed and night stands and mounted a nice tv on the wall with DVD player and everything and I even got her a beautiful NAUTICA bed room suite. It looked great. I put an alarm clock and pictures and everything, making it real comfy. I even put a desk in there for her to study at b/c she was to start school.

So she gets her VISA and comes and is really excited about her room. Well two days later I came hom from work and piled up on my bed was all the stuff she didnt want in her room. I had gone to American eagle and just got her a few pairs of jeans and shirts and she piled pictures, rugs, the DESK!!! and some clothes on my bed and said she didnt want them.
Would you be offended? Would you be angry? I felt she wasnt grateful!

ok my mom is sooo depresed bc my step father said this ...this is the whole conversation over the phone " father- hey i think we shouldnt be together. mother- will you be there when i get home?' father- "No'.....then he hanges up. and me and my mothere havent seen him in about 24 hours my mother will not leave the phone and wants him back but my father is chewing still behind our backs it will kill him!. he has had 2 transplants a kidney and pankres, to keep him alive and hes just killing him self off , helies a lot but it hurts me to see my mother dieing inside because of this......... whay should i do???

I always get upset about my parents because they will not let me do anything, they won't let me go any where with my friends even if its all girls if there isn't an adult around, and i understand that rule if it was for dangerous places or at night but sometimes is rediculous. I'm only 14 and i know thats young and some people are gonna be like just wait till your older to have fun or whatever, but i get so frusterated when i can't do things most of my friends do and i have to tell them its because of my parents, my mom also follows me every where i go, i havent gone to anything over the summer without my mom going to! it also frusterates me to see 12 year olds who get to do things i can't!

k well today when i got home from school i went into my sisters room to find something that was mine and i found some white powdery stuff in ziplock bags (it was hidden) anyway she is about 17 and im 15. i have done my share of bad things too like sneaking out and going places tht i would never be alowed to go do and she drinks and stuff but i think this is terrible. because then i googled what the powdery stuff was and it was cocaine... i feel terrible and to my mom she makes me look bad and makes her self look good. i dont want to tell on her becuase i have snuck out and went to New York City alone for the day (i live In Westchester) and i also got drunk one night. she is the kind of person that would turn on me in a second so i am not going to tell but what do i do becuase my insides feel awful! what can i do to relax.? (also she doesnt know what i found)

If u want u can check my profile and see that i have an as* of a step dad, i want to know if this is fair. I am on house arrest, for some reasons and My mom and step dad (who came in july of this year) sat me down cause i don't go to school cause house arrest and they told me in november, when its over, i am going to a cathloic school, is that even fair?? My mom would never do that to me. Since him i changed, i was never an all a student, or antyhing, but since him i do one bad thing, he's like totally pis*ed at me. He brought 4 of his kids, and i have 3 older brothers, and they r all like crazy. Since my step dad i've, gotten my nose pierced, had sex, smoked pot, house arrest, cut myself, gotten like 3 detentions in september, and everyone hates me, including myself, but he just DRIVES ME CRAZY. I'm 16 and have gotten into trouble alot because if i did 1 small thing wroung like a dention, he would like kill me! It's not fair I have a family, i don't need him or his kids. IS IT FAIR?

my parents are super OVER protective....they don't let me do anything....no school activities....no going to the mall by myself....no going over my friend's house NOTHING not even going to my bestfriends birthday party
