The parents will probably do the same..... even if the 14 y/o refuses. Sorry to say it but children do NOT always make the best decisions. Besides, being 14 doesn't give you a lot of options as to what you could do. I say, the 14 y/o will learn to adjust, make new friends, and keep on being a kid. The 14 y/o also must realize that, the friends he had from the old school will stay in touch, if they are real friends.

At the end of the day it is the parents' job to make sure that the child is taken care of in life. Sometimes that means making decisions for the good of the family that the child will not like. Hopefully when the child refuses to come the parent remembers this and doesn't just leave him there in an empty house...all alone.

You cannot refuse. You are a minor and you go where your parents go. Do you really want to end up at the Juvenile Detentions Center over moving?
