my parents think i'm anorexic. I am so not anorexic! I love food and I eat all 3 meals every day with snacks and dessert. I eat just as much as I always have. I am not fat- I'm 113 lbs and 5' 5". im 14. the BMI calculator says i'm healthy. so did my doctor. I wear a size 2 or 4 in jeans. I wore my sisters skinny jeans and cowboy boots to show my parents my halloween costume I'm planning as a cowgirl and they were like "you have lost a lot of weight. you should eat more. i'm surprised you fit into your sisters jeans." my sister had always been super skinny. she's 5'8" and 110 lbs. she is almost 16. my parents have always labeled her the skinny one. everyone thinks of her as the skinny one. now that i'm getting taller, my parents think im getting skinnier but im just growing! high metabolism runs in my family and its just normal. It hurts my feelings that they accuse me of being anorexic or bulemic when i'm just normal. I talked to my sister and she said the same thing. i'm normal right?

Maybe they are more expressing concern, even though it sounds accusing to you. Surely they would know the doctor said you are healthy and you could have the frame you do due to genetics(maybe you can remind them). Keep eating your meals and that sort of thing, and don't make a fuss about your weight or their attention about it, and that might help too. Maybe it is a society thing too - some western societies the average weight is going up, and so some people think healthy/normal is on the skinny side. Good luck.

Your parents just love you... They are only showing concern. Be happy your parents love and don't want you did form a eating disorder. Aneroxia is out there and it is no joke. It can creep up on a family and it is devastating. There are so many articles and information out there that these eating disorders are getting more and more common. If you do not have one of these disorders.... Just keep reassure them you are fine and remind them the doctor says you are at normal range. Also be willing to reassure them by going back to the doctor with them and discuss it with a professional. It will definitely ease their minds and you will probably not hear anything about it. Also enjoy meals with them so they can see you are eating. Be thankful you are loved and appreciate the time they give you to be worried.

you're absolutly fine! do your parents know that you;re feeling this way? Sit down and talk to them about it. Tell them everything you just told me in the question. Asure them that you love your food and would never do anything silly and that you;re not bothered about your weight you're just naturally skinny. Make sure your mum and dad know that accusing you of eating disorders is upsetting you and if the doctor has said you are perfectly healthy then why are they worrying. They should trust you. I'm also naturally thin and i always get accused of anorexia and things too. I am 13 and i'm 5,4 and i weight 6 and a half stone. Its just natural i eat when i;m hungry and i love eating! I would never become anorexic, i told my mum about it and she apoligised and now she trusts me that i am eating healthy and i am not obsessing about my weight.

Ignore them. If you aren't doing any of those things, then you have nothing to worry about. I have a friend who is very skinny, but she eats a lot. In fact she eats more then I do and I'm 20 pounds over weight (was 40). She is very energetic and in sports, where as my only excersise is walking at work for my job.

How can your parents accuse you for something you're not doing? Aren't parents suppose to be supporting their kids and encouraging them with their dreams and goals??
