My fiance is 20 years old, we have been together for almost 2 years. I HATE HIS DAD!! He rude, he controls my fiance in everything that he does. He still lives at his dads because his dad makes up excuses to why he cant move in with me yet, the first and the worst was " if you move we will cut ties" basically saying his will disown him, or that my brother who lives with me does drugs and now not til he finishes college. His truck has a topper, and his dad wont let him take it off because he says it will look "retarded" if he takes it off!! ITS A TRUCK!!! He watches porn in the family room while we are there and he walks around naked!!! How can I help my fiance get out of his father tight grip!?

Should I turn my uncle in for molesting me when I was about the age of 7 or 8? The sexual abuse went on for over 2 years. Will he be put behind bars if I told the police and stuff? I'm now 22 years of age. I'm just wondering.

i have a sister who is 15 years older my parents are both dead. I am the youngest of 6 kids. I have thought for years she is more my mother then mom ever was has always been there for me until recently all she wants to do is cause trouble. I am in my 2nd marriage the 1st one lasted 3 years the family all treated him like sh** so we divorced. I admit this marriage has been rocky but we have been together 26 years I have been told by many how many times he has fu**** around on me I have never caught him in the act and refuse to go by what others tell me. Maybe I am stupid but anyway. I chose to stay in my marriage for my own dumb reasons. But now I am being told by my sister that my man has been in her Pants, And 2 of my other sisters also, tryed to go to bed with my Mother, Had my niece, and has fathered at least 4 kids by other women. I am so tired of the turmoil in the family I have changed my number and she still gets it. We moved she got our new address. It is always something.

My boyfriends mum comes to our new house everyday to keep our dog company for a few hours while we are at work. The trouble is she keeps doing my housework, moving things around making our bed!!! Whilst I am grateful of her help with the dog I feel very uncomfortable with this, especially the bedmaking! Am I being petty? How should i address this problem?

month but her Godfather's Mum died suddenly last week and was buried on Saturday though. As he had to take bereavement leave as holidays in order to get paid he cannot get the time off he originally scheduled for the christening.

More than that though, last week when he was worrying over it I said not to. That given the circumstances it would not be a problem to put it back a couple of months to a better time - thinking that after just losing his Mum having such a contrasting event is just inappropriate.

Anyway - now my family are up in arms about it. I seem to have offended everyone by choosing to postpone the event for these reasons.

No specific invitations were sent. No-one else has to work a Sunday and thus take time off. Not one of my family offered or was going to help with the likes of organising or decorating the house/buffet/cost etc so I feel really bemused as to why they are so angry.

They are not even religious!

Anyway - my Mum's exact words were that life

Does anyone think that it is possible for a child to act normally in child parent relationship that is being abused. My boyfriend was molested as a child and i think it was by his father. Some of the things that he said in the past kind of had me curious. MY gut instinct, as a woman, tells me something is not right between him and his daughter that he is raising by himself. Here is the complicated part, the kid act like she loves her father and acts like a normal kid, but my instinct wont let this one go. Can a child act in this manner and at the same time be introduced emotional and/or sexual abuse

My daughter is 5 yrs old. and incredibly intelligent. I told her today that her dad isnt her real dad..i told her in a way that would make some bit of sense to a 5 yr old and she took it very well.
I just didnt want her to find out later or me tell her later and her feel like her life was a lie. And trust me, she will remember that I told her, she still remembers things I have said and done from 2 yrs ago.
would you have told your child at this age?

Just a question, My son's friend got kicked out of home last night by his mum,he is only 14
Now i said he could stay the night
I have no phone number to call the parent so i drove down to his home to let them know he was ok and safe
No one answered the door there was some one home - I waited a few minutes to see if any one was going to answer the door but no one did
I have now got to go to work to day but will try again before i go to let the mother know her son is with us and safe.
What would you do ?

I live with my mom and step dad while going through a divorce. Today, I gave my son an extra treat in addition to the treat he had after dinner. Yes I know kids arent supposed to eat that much junk but I dont normally give him that much. When my stepdad found out, he yelled at me in front of my son and said he already had a treat. I just feel that it was wrong.

I'm 22 and I love my family so much but they treat me like a punching bag, I want to move but I'm afraid to leave because in some twisted way I feel like they need me and I need them. My mother and father drink a lot and accuse me of being on drugs(which I have never done) or complaining because I get frustrated with them and have emotional break downs(this is something my mother does all the time but shes completely stone when it comes to someone elses feelings) So I guess my question is do I have a problem or do my parents? and when I try to talk to them they don't listen how can I reason with them about they're drinking without them getting defensive and screaming at me?

A month ago my step grandma elected me to help her with two younger cousins of mine when they visit. She always has them out here every summer and this time she told me I'd help her take them to a theme park, to the movies, and swimming. Not that I really mind doing any of these things, but the fact she didn't ask has gotten to me. Her son, my step father, couldn't believe she didn't ask. She also hasn't said thank you for the things I've already done. (I'm midweek with it). This weekend I'm in a wedding and the bride has asked me to do last minute things with her and help her out. I really like doing this sort of thing and she's feeling overwhelmed. I'm the only one not working much this week so she asked me to come to her mercy. I told her yes, forgetting about my prior "agreement" to my step grandma. Now I feel horrible about not being able to help the bride after stating I would. My step grandma can definitely handle the girls alone. They are 6 and 8. How do I get out of this?

I'm 24 and I've been out of her house for about 6 years. I don't have a particularly great relationship with her. She is verbally/emotionally abusive so when she calls, I like to avoid answering the phone. I'e tried rationally talking to her but whenever I try, she says "good grief! can't you just grow up?" I hate being around her and in the past 2 days, she's left 4 voicemails on my phone. I just don't want to talk to her because when I do, she makes me so depressed. I know this sounds horrible but I just don't want to deal with all the emotional baggage. Should I just cut my ties with her? It's taken a considerable amount of therapy when I moved out to be emotionally stable. When I talk to her, it feels like I'm back at step one...What should I do? If I cut ties with her, should I call her and tell her not to contact me or should I just ignore when she calls? I'm at the end of my rope dealing with her. What do you think???

I have a brother-in-law who talks all the time. He will monopolize a conversation and cut you off when you are speaking. He thinks he's always right, and voices his opinion even when I have not asked for it. On top of all that, he's controlling and a dictator... telling people what to do all the time.

I dread when he visits because I don't like being around him. He's annoying. I thought it was me but others have expressed their concern and agree with all of the above.

Any advise is much appreciated.

im 15 and my mom is a drunk. i live with her. my parents are divorced. i have two brothers. we hate it when my mom drinks. she is not a good mom. i tried talking to her and that didnt help. so anyways i spend a lot of time with my grandma who is 56. my mom gets jealous when i hang out with my grandma because she feels that i like her better. i kinda do. so i talked to her. i said "can i go with grandma?" she said " today is not the day to be going anywhere." i said "but i have to." she said "why?" i said " i miss her. whenever i try to depend on you, you act like a lunitic." she walked away and said "oh starla!" she was crying as she walked to her room. i followed her. she faced the wall and wouldnt face me. " im sorry." I said. "so i guess im a bad mother?" she said crying. "no your not, you need to stop drinking." i said. then she went on and on about how i shouldnt be spending so much time with my grandma. help! i miss grandma not my mother! i hate her!
