My mom passed away a year and a half ago after battling a sickness. However, my dad still hasnt gotten her a grave stone or even ordered one yet. My siblings and I have repeatedly reminded him and given him suggestions about what to get and yet he still puts it off. My dad started dating a couple months after her death and married about a year after her death. I understand that he has a new wife and family but is it rude to keep requesting the grave stone?

I am not really comfortable with someone I do not know watching my children. I let my mom and My friend Becki watch my children. Normally I do not even let The father of my son watch him. Yes we are together and engaged but sometimes men are just not good with babies. I am extreamly nervous . Am I just being overprotective. and I also breastfeed him at night when he wakes up. How do I politely tell them I would rather him stay with me?

This has to do with some questions I asked the other day about my brother moving in with me and my family.
I can't say no to him moving in. I feel like it's mean and he has nowhere else to go. Me and my family live in a small town where there is barely any businesses to work at. Otherwise you would have to have a car and be willing to drive a half hour away, which my brother cannot do.
See he's been in trouble with the law. He used to live in the city with another family member until he got into further trouble now he cant go back to that family members house to live, and wants to live here.
I'm afraid that if I let him stay here with us he'll just freeload or get into trouble all over again. cause there isnt any jobs available around and how wold he help us with bills and stuff.
what should I do?...I feel like I cant tell him no.

I'm 17 and for two months, and not even two months, like one and 18 days I'm gonna be working. In total I'll earn about $1,000 after taxes. And it's just for the summer, when I go back to school, it's over. Now this woman wants me to save $500 dollars so when I go back to school I can use the money for lunch. What the hell! Then I'll have like $500 to spend and probably even less when you count other things like getting my liscence, which I will have to pay for and my phone. So it'll be less than that to start with. My mom is being so selfish! She's acting like this because she isn't getting overtime from work and she has mortgage and bills to pay, but she's not dead broke! Why can't she just let me enjoy my damn money and get what I want and save some for other things I want. It's not right. It's like I'll be working to eat! And that doesn't make any damn sense because it's not a steady job. It's just a few bucks to have and enjoy. Why is she doing this? Why must she be such an a s s?

Would it be appropriate to ask people who are invited to bring a covered dish, appetizer or desert to a retirement party/pig roast?

A friend's son just became a state police officer and to celebrate, they held a picnic for him and asked everyone to bring something.

My dad retires in less than 3 months and we were going to have a huge pig roast for a picnic as well as include a retirement celebration. Other than the pig, we were going to provide the cake and beverages.

when you cook, have you ever done something wrong? Like, burning a pot or putting in wrong ingredients or something.

In my house, we burned lots of pots. We also burned popcorn in the microwave and it turned yellow inside cuz of the butter.

Say your partner, or member of your family, or even a friend goes to town and brings you a little something back ?.
When was the last time someone bought you something, and what was it ??.

I was at a family event yesterday and saw a child tell his mother about something bad his brother was doing. The mother laid into him for tattling and then went to deal with the brother's misdeed. I've seen this situation many times in my life where the tattler gets in trouble for tattling and I really don't understand why that's wrong. In this case, the mother punished the tattler, but then made use of his information. When I was a kid, there was an old lady in our neighborhood who would call your mom if she saw you smoking on the corner or hanging out with the wrong crowd or whatever and then when you got home, you'd really get it. So why is it that kids are taught not to tattle, but adults are encouraged to speak up when they see someone doing something wrong or acting suspiciously?

Ok. This is crazy but, here it goes. My sister accused my step-dad of molesting her. Then she went to live with our Daddy. A couple of months later, she and my Dad were fighting over his rules and she accused him of the same thing. This makes guy #3 she has accused.
I can't stand this, My sister is full of crap. She refuses to take a lie detector. She is begging to see a counselor or somebody who will give her medication because "she can't deal with this". And, my mom is doing everything in her power to "help" my sister. I'm so disgusted I can barely talk to my mother and my fiance refuses to have anything to do with them or let our kids go to her house.
I'm at a loss as what to do. I'm getting married in April 2008 and this is ripping my family apart. What should I do? I completely believe in both my dad and my step-dad's innocence.
And, to top it all off, my mom won't give me my wedding dress, which is stored at her house, unless I refused to invite my dad to the wedding

I broke up with my boyfriend, due to distance, the fact that he's told me numerous times he never wants to get married or have kids, his partying/alcohol-abusive lifestyle, and that he still parties with girls he had adulterous flings with while dating his last girlfriend. I don't trust him, I wasn't happy in a going nowhere relationship, and I am happy and relieved to be single.

My mom is a different story. My ex is a charmer, and after a week spent visiting my whole family loved him. She's not willing to accept my breakup. In the past two days, she has endlessly nagged me to call him and apologize, going on about how much she liked him, talking about how he'd 'never do anything like that' when I tell her why I don't trust him, how he has a drinking problem. The last time she started in on I like him I lost my temper and said I don't. I feel that she of all people should be on my side of a breakup, no matter what. It's kind of hurtful to have her take up his side. What do I do?

Well my great aunt just died and she didn't make a will. My grandmother (her sister) has been taking care of her for a very long time, more than 15 years. Now we found this one thing that said she had $90,000. None of that money went to my grandmother. None. The money was split two ways between her two favorite nephews. They never did anything for her except really make her laugh. I know that's a good thing but my grandmother did everything for her. Do you think this is fair? Can we fight this?

My daughter loves watching programmes from Nick Junior which I have no problem with, what I do have a problem with however is the loan adverts and financial adverts they put on between shows. Now Cbeebies doesn't have adverts and I love her watching that channel but as she is getting older she wants to watch other things. How do I go about getting rid of these adverts? Surely one complaint isn't enough. How can we all get rid of these ads to stop our youngsters thinking that getting into debt from such tender ages is a good idea?

THANKS GUYS

We moved into a apt downtown, are paying 836. for a one bed. Since moving in:
* we have had roaches, they had to come spray 2x and still we are seeing them, i am deathly afraid of them.* Our airconditioner broke and dripped all over the carpet, they came and cut open the carpet and took the underpad out, they left it like that and have not come back to fix it in 4 days *the garbage disposal in the sink backs stuff up into the sink from other peoples sinks!! Imagine going to wash something in the sink and seeing a layer of grease, debris and food bits from someone else's disposal!! I wrote this on the walk-through and they never fixed it, i also mentioned it to the office.* Our dishwasher is broken and leaks, i called the office and they said someone would come out 2 weeks ago, but they didnt
*Our closet doors are off track and no one has come to fix it, i wrote this on the walk through and spoke w/ property mgmt 2x. I feel like im being ripped off! What can i do or say to get relief?

That i don't want to be muslim anymore. The touble is, is that he has the usual arabs temper so he wont accept it, and i'm 14 so it'll take me 4 more years till i can leave home. He thinks that i am not leaving home till i get married, as if, but my mum is christian, has not told him yet and she says that as soon as i hit 18 i should leave home and get out of dubai and live the normal life that a girl should live.
I also have a boyfriend and if my dad found out i would be dead, but my bf and i can hardly see eachother because my dad doesn't let me out of the house. Which is another annoying thing, i cant go to sleepovers.
As you can see, i'm pretty much not liking the religion as there are more restrictions than freedoms. HELP!!!!
