We moved into a apt downtown, are paying 836. for a one bed. Since moving in:
* we have had roaches, they had to come spray 2x and still we are seeing them, i am deathly afraid of them.* Our airconditioner broke and dripped all over the carpet, they came and cut open the carpet and took the underpad out, they left it like that and have not come back to fix it in 4 days *the garbage disposal in the sink backs stuff up into the sink from other peoples sinks!! Imagine going to wash something in the sink and seeing a layer of grease, debris and food bits from someone else's disposal!! I wrote this on the walk-through and they never fixed it, i also mentioned it to the office.* Our dishwasher is broken and leaks, i called the office and they said someone would come out 2 weeks ago, but they didnt
*Our closet doors are off track and no one has come to fix it, i wrote this on the walk through and spoke w/ property mgmt 2x. I feel like im being ripped off! What can i do or say to get relief?

if the prop mgr won't fix the issues.
document them and photograph them.
see if your state/town has a landlord tenant code book that you can reference too. that usualy shows the guidelines they should follow.
contact a lawyer too. see about a free consult to see if you have a case or if it's something a lil mention of i'm getting a laywer will fix.

well first of all My family had the same problem although we were tennants in a house we had roaches the front lawn didnt have grass ou restrooms frequently broke down so did our shower It SUCKED ! lets just say it like that well we couldn't do anything since we had more people living there than permitted . Although when my cousins moved out we gave the guy A month to fix the things that constantly broke down otherwise we would put a law suit he didnt do it ( he Just didnt believe us ) and we won he fixed everything and he threw in grass for the front lawn and A new paint job for the whole outside! you can do that or ... dont pay until they fix it tell the mger that you want them to fix it or wont pay rent and if they kick you out then sue

You don't live in Wisconsin do you? Because that lady sounds EXACTLY like our past landlady and I swear BMG management sounds very familiar to me...She wouldn't give us her boss's number either, but claimed she'd already given it to us when we moved in and it was posted on the wall by the entry way to the building. We had nothing but trouble with her. If any of the things I've said sound like her and you DO live in wisconsin, send me a message and I'll be more than happy to help you out however I can. I remember her name and everything quite well. No, she cannot withhold that information from you and you need to tell her manager, soon.

you need to contact your fair housing office, also contact the city inspectors and get them on your landlord. Take them to court to make them fix things. I know in the state of Illinois even if a landlord does not fix things you still have to pay rent. Pretty sad but true. You need to write down everything and keep track of it. Take that landlord to court to get them to do it if you have too. Otherwise start looking for another place and move. Take pictures of everything before you move.
