Tell your mom you KNOW she can get more grumpier than him and put him to shame.

Hi Jeff, sorry to hear that your dad has the "grumps" every other week. Usually there is a reason for this type of attitude. It may not be a "good" reason but there is always a reason. If your dad works, could be his job. If he gets paid every other week, it might be his paycheck earnings. He's not happy on his salary due to the type of work that he does. This would put anyone in a grumpy state of mind, especially if one has a lot of bills or rent to be paid. It does get stressful at times. When this happens, usually what takes place is that your dad can't yell at his boss so he takes it out on your mom. He shouldn't do this but it does happen. If this isn't the reason then maybe your dad is going through some changes on his own and he can't solve his own problems. Maybe to help the solution is when you know his grumpy state is going to happen, beat him to the punch and do something for your dad. Mow the lawn for your dad or ask him if he would like to do something such as a sport or an activity with you.Do something that your dad would like to do, maybe he feels depressed or unwanted. Also, sometimes parents get in a "rut" to where they do the same thing day in and day out. Change their rut habits by doing other things with them. Sometimes just a simple "I love you dad" changes everything. Show him that you still love him and care for him. Dads' are pretty special and you only have one dad. Good luck and I wish you well.

You may not like it, but help him around the house and such. He gets grumpy because he is over worked, and stressed. If When he comes home from work or wherever he goes out, when he walks in, say something like, "hey Dad! how was your day?" Help your mom clean, and just talk about his day, and let him get this frustration out without getting worked up.

Nothing, just don't do anything to aggravate him more. if its twice a month, it probably has something to do with his earnings, and the fact that he feels he isn't providing enough spending money for the family. You might consider cutting back on the items you feel you just must have, though, and let his savings grow a bit

You know my dad did the same thing and the funny thing is that it was around the same time each month, my mon swears that the new moon affects him, but what we did was ignore him and treat him no differently and then he would be back to normal, seriously just ignore him.

Why is this happening, there's a reason for this, you need to ask mom what is causing this to happen, and get it resolved. It doesn't hurt to brong in the family doctor and ask him or her what do you think about some sort of meds for dad?????
