i am 21 and i have been smoking for 4 years and i am hiding it from my parents, and i think they will get mad but i enjoy it and dont want to quit ,
how do i tell them so i can stop hiding it?

i smoke cigs. and i only smoke 4 a day and i like it b/c it helps me relax

This is a great question and one that seems to go thru the mind of every smoker at some point in their life. Its eaiser to let your parents know if they themselves are smokers. If not, It's going to be harder for them to understand. Since you want to tell them in the 1st place means that you show a great deal of pride in making your own independent choices in life. You want to tell them you smoke becuse you feel that smoking is the right choice for you, and I happen to agree. Never go out of your way to tell them, as that might just cause an agument they will loose. Being subtle is the best approach by using examples such as leaving your pack or ash tray in a visible place for them to see. Breaking the news could be hard, but actually lighting up in front of them will be uneasy for them at 1st. Good poise and style are the norms here as you know. Let me know how it turns out. You will get a slew of questions that you probably haven't answered yourself yet in regard to smoking. Telling you from my experience through of 26 years, i have no regrets. So I hope you get to enjoy it the rest of your life as well.

I'm much younger than you. I'm 13 but please listen to my advice without just thinking I'm a little kid, because I'm not. My grandma smoked for 50 years. She is now on oxygen and can't walk 5 yards without having to catch her breath. She loves to bake but it's really hard for her now. She can't even make her own meals. She is on oxygen 24-7 except when she's sitting down and the doctors found a spot in her lung so she had to get a biopsy. Turns out she doesn't have cancer. yet. Stop smoking!! Is that the life you want for yourself? Stop now so your grandkids will get the pleasure of spending good time with you [ if they get to at all if you dont stop smoking.] It's a really bad idea to smoke. All it does is damage. Just smoke in front of them. They'll get used to it.
BUT, I've been smoking for 30 years and I cough like crazy, I lose my breath wlking up stairs, I stink (as do you by the way) and I'm a social outcast in most countries on earth. If you've only been smoking for 4 years I'd really recommend you give it away.

Well I really suggest you quit smoking.... Or else you can die... Well, i think that you know that smoking can kill you or give you lungs cancer... If you smoke lot then you can get sick than sooner or later you will get punished....
Why do you love smoking soo much.. It's bad for your health... Smoking is just breathing in and out of a really unhealthy air from a stick.. Well, that's my opinion...

You are of age to do so, just tell them, oh they can smell this on you, I'm sure they know already. We never want to see out kids harm themselves in any way shape or form. I'm guessing you are talking about smoking cigarettes.

just stop making it a point to hide, okay they may get mad but you ARE 21 now so they cant really say anything about it, they just have to deal with the facts!

just tell em. yah maybe theyl be mad but theyl get over it. my mom did and she caught me smoking when i was like 13and im 22 now. im sure she has a problem with it but she respects my decision or at least deals with it. i dont ask her for money for cigaretts when im out and i dont smoke when im around her. email me and let me know how it turns out.

theres no way to tell them without using the words 'I smoke' so i guess just build around that basically. ease them into the idea by saying stuff like im old enough to make my own decisions and instead of getting mad please respect them etc
