I am 13 almost fourteen and my parents WONT let me get a cell phone!!!!! I have been asking for one forever and have offered to pay for some but they just wont budge! does anyone have 10 good reasons i should get one, to use on my parents!

well here are some and some tips for you
* Say it's for safety and in case you get separted in town
* Say you would pay for top ups/contract and the phone
*Do some research on the apparent radiation!
* Don't be all moody when they say no just say ok an try again
*Get them interested-show them new phones and show what you can get for your money
*Explain reasonably and calmly why YOU want one
*Create a mini booklet on them(bit odd but it ALWAYS works for me!)
Good luck i couldn't think of 10 but there are some and keep repeating 'the safety and arranging times in town and things like that' one

Don't listen to ppl that say u dont need one ur too young blah blah blah! What if u get lost and need to call someone? what if ur in a situation where there are no adults or phones around? what if u dont have money 4 a pay phone? What if you want to go to the park and ur mom needs to call u when dinners ready? Just get good grades do ur chores and make a deal with ur mom. Like say I'll do chores to buy the cellphone and u can pay 4 the service. Act nice to ur mom and dont ask 4 alot of other things 4 xmas or ur bday. Ask 4 a cell phone!!!!

well one would be because if u go somewhere and get seperated from the group/family(that still happens no matter how old u r)they will be able to call u or u call them so u can meet them somewhere.if u get what i mean.also if someone tries to kidnap u or somthing,u can call for help.there's many good reasons why u need a cell phone,but they also have responcibility.when u get older u'll need one so if ur car breaks down on the highway.that happened to my mom and luckily a friend of hers saw her and gave her a lift home.but that won't always happen.(a friend sees u on the highway)but anyway.cells can come in use.my dad got me one(another reason) so that i don't keep the home phone line busy from talking to friends.reasons to have cell phones are really easy to think of.and they're true. hopefully if u tell ur parents that u'll always have it on,so they can call u anytime.and that u know the resoncibility that it comes with but will take care of it.hopefully they'll trust u.i mean if they don't trust u,how will they know if they raised u right.if u know what i mean.

LOL...my daughter did this to me when she wanted to get a cell phone. When she did finally get one, she never answers it, so we still can't get a hold of her! Listen to your parents reasons for you not having a phone, then tell them in your own words why you do...no whining or using the excuse because all my friends have them...and you're ruining my life. Maybe suggest a pay as you go phone for emergencies.

Well, it really depends where you live IMO. I can see in some places, like a major metropolitan or large suburban area why it might be useful, but if you are living in small town or medium town USA, I'm not so sure. You should trust their judgement, realize that they cost money, kids lose them, use them too much, and primarily use them as a toy. You should just drop the issue and show them some maturity so maybe you can get one sooner rather than later.

1 good reason - they will always be able to reach you when you go out at night. But don't expect to have the cell phone long if you end up turning it off when you don't want to talk to them.

Can't think of a one.Here are some reasons you shouldn't though.
1.You won't be making secret dates
2.spreading gossip
3.running up a bill your parents have to pay for
4 you will have to pay attention to your surroundings in public places
5 Your attention wont be divided when talking to people in person and someone on your cell phone
6 You are in school to learn, not to yak on a cell phone
7you won't be able to cheat on tests
8you wont be able to snap nudy pics of yourself to show others
9 you wont be able to receive nudy pics of your friends
because you arent an adult yet.
