I know this sounds ridiculous, but what makes a man say "hun" to a woman he doesnt even know?

Example: You hold the door for a man who has been previously "checking you out" He then casually thanks you by saying

"Thanks hun!"

Is it because he thought I was attractive? Or just being polite? There are other instances this occurs I'm sure, but I was just curious if you men always say "hun" to women!

this guy has been telling all his guy friends i like him---which isn't true---i keep getting pissed over it and whenever i catch his glance i sent really angry pissed out gazes. I tried ignoring him...even avoiding his gaze and acting completely oblivious when he tries to get my attention --but he won't stop paying attention --sometimes teasing me indirectly---even worse he seems scared to look at me --sometimes--looks down /won't look up--blinks alot------obviously i'm acting strange around him bcuz he's pissing me off and getting on my nerves with his remarks/ but how the hell do i make him know i don't like him????? i can't just go up confront him--awkward & random--since we haven't spoke a word in 4 yrs--used to be great friends until my other friend joked i had a crush on him---not long after he hurt our friendship by tellin others he's leading me on....for entertainment....i'm pissed and still pissed..but he takes my reactions/weird behaviour as in-- i like him alot! im sure you have heard about guys ENJOYING being hit in the groin. personaly im not.

but i noticed with friends jsut messing around that women realy seem to find a guy getting hit there amusing and funny.

i know its funny cause its slapstick humor. but is there any thing else other than that? do you ENJOY to see a man in that much pain? or is it like the funniest home videos and nothing more than that.

also, if you do find it funny. is there any type of sympathy or feeling bad for them as well?

I just started dating my girlfriend last week. I love her so much. My parents dont like her though. They do not think homosexuality is right. I dont know what to do. My next door naighbors are deaf; the mom and dad. I heard that the older sister tourtures the little brother. She was once SEVERLY hitting him and he was screaming and crying for his mom and dand but they couldnt hear him. And another time she locked him out of the house at 2:00 in the morning! And he was crying and scrwaming bloody murder and my mom witnessed this. He was locked out of the house once when he was in his underwear but it was in bright daylight. I hear screaming at night when I am trying to sleep. I am young and I can not really do anything (that I know of) so I want my mom to do something. Or I want to et over this fear of him getting severly hurt! I am scared!!

How can I get over this fear? Or what can me or my mom do? But I want to know how I can get over my fear!?

We broke up one week ago, her decision. She wants to be friends. says that we can be friends, start from the beginning, and take things slow. She doesn't want to see me right now bc she says i still have feelings and only when i can be her friend we can see each other..

We started out our relationship really fast from the get go, three weeks of knowing each other and have been dating. for 2 months, until last week.

It is so hard to see her as a friend than a gf.
She says she wants to be single, have fun with her friends..

what should i do?
is it the end?
this is really bothering me.

She has been hanging out with her guy friends and will take vacations with them this holiday. She wont even spend Christmas with me, instead it will be with someone else whom she calls a friend, an the unknown gender, due to information, when i spoke with her three days ago. I have been with my partner for 6 years and are both very happy and my mother used to think she was wonderful but for the last 4 years has turned against her for no reason.
my mother is getting on in years and has always fallen out with family but my problem is with my father as he has to live with her bitterness.
I love my father dearly but have not visited in months as my partner is not welcomed by my mother.
my partner is a good and loving person that does not deserve this treatment and if I dont visit my mother turns on me and as this is not the first time she has done this to her will never return to visit and I more than agree but I cant contact my father as it causes my mother to give him hell
what can I do as I miss my father so much and am afraid will never see him again as he to is getting old
I feel I cant win as at family gatherings my partner never comes and my mother gets it her way(she won)I back my partner and dont go anymore although she says I should what do I do

I get really upset because she is my best friend. Everyone is coming up to me commenting how frail she looks. When I hug her all i can feel are bones. Her face is gaunt and pasty, her hands are always cold, and she DOES NOT EAT A THING AT SCHOOL but makes me eat lots instead. Her fingers look dead, and she keeps disappearing off to the toilet all the time. When we tell her to eat her lunch, she makes excuses - I've lost my appetite, i ate already, or I've got lots of homework. I know she doesn't feel good because she acts strange and moody all of the time. I don't know what to do anymore. I don't want her to die, but i don't know how to hate her... she would kill me if i told a teacher or anything, but I've considered doing so because I'd rather sacrifice our friendship than her life. Do you have any suggestions on how I can help the girl?

This insecurity revolves aroudn the fact that my wife told me she didnt love me, she wanted nothing to do with me, she took my kid away from me for three weeks, and almost divorced me, now she turned around and wants to work on things.... there is the background here is the question...

How do you feel when your wife/girlfriend turns you down when you want to be intimate with them. I would say about 80-85 percent of the time lately i have been told no. Then when we do do it, i think that its me forcing her, whether or not that is true im not sure. My first thought would be im in the mood to do something, not even a second later my next immediate thought is that she will just say no so why even bother. So, how do others feel about getting told no a lot, and what to do about it to change that?

Ok..heres the story..the girl is 17 and Im 18. I met her back in May through a friend cuz I needed a prom date. We ended up going and we had a good time. I have hung out with her twice since then and we get along fine, but it is really difficult for me to talk to her on the phone. I havent hung out with her since july...its easy for me to talk to her in person, but on the phone I have NO idea what to say. I realize that i cannot ask her out over the phone, however, I know that if I dont grow some balls and call her i will never see her again because she lives 40 minutes away. my mom, my stepdad, n my dad all say they dont need or want anythin 4 christmas. but they have said tht b4 n once christmas passes by n i havnt gotten them anythin i feel bad and they end up gettin annoyed.

my mom is 45 but nt like old lady at all. shes one of those party moms n has mad parties n friends n stuff n likes what moms like plus anythin ppl in their 20s n 30s would like?

my stepdad is 43 n hes always liking the new gadgets n technology n stuff. like hes one of the normal dads who acts like hes still n his 30s n thinks technology is cool. likes cookin shows (4 some reason i have never understood) n he likes like family guy n boondocks n all tht stuff. hes nt rly a sports guy.

my dad is 45 n hes also wit the technology stuff but hes a huge sports guy. hes head of marine core rugby, a coach on the national rugby team, a player himself. rly likes baseball, red sox in particular. he watches like all the war movies, law n order stuff like that.
