Family & Relationships - 18 December 2007

Right now I'm feeling so upset because three people in my family are dying right now. One is dying of leukemia as we speak, one has lung cancer and Alzheimer's, and the other has a rare form of liver cancer. I know neither of them are going to live much longer, but I just can't deal with it. They're all so important to me and I've known them my entire life. What's even worse is that I know that their deaths are coming and there's nothing I can do to stop it. What do I do? How do I deal with this?

Some married people have children to bond them together. The child is a product of their love. Why is this the case? I would assume that a child would create a barrier between them because it is an extra person to share your time and love with. Meaning you would have less time to put into nurtuing your relationship with your spouse.

So, wouldn't your marital bond be stronger if you didn't have children?

so, we got in a little fight and we apologized, but i haven't talked to her since. i don't really know.
some days i feel like i should talk to her, that i miss her.
other days i'm so happy and i'm like "why's did i ever bother with taht girl?"
She's kind and cool, yet changed so much. she's become someone i don't really understand as well any more.
so, this is in the style of question and choices for that question. plase include all of the answers you want and an explanation if wanted

it's so annoying that it puts about 50% of my stress. and you have to remember that school causes stress too! TOO MUCH!!!!! ahh!

ok their is this very hott guy he plays football and is a wrestler anyway i play field hockey and basketball but he is a preppy kid he talks 2 me sometimes but not usually! Me and him went 2 preschool together and usually hung out. But their is this girl Carly that i get along with but i am jealous cuz she is a wrestling trainer and gets 2 spend more time with him so the other day he got hit in the eye and he looks really wierd LOL! No, I'm serious! Like saying "I do" triggers some fault in the brain and causes some people to completely forget how to hear? I wonder sometimes...there's just no other explanation for saying something 800 times and still having to say it again. Or maybe...maybe marriage causes short term memory loss. how many of you have gotten physical in your home...like not hitting your woman..but punching a door, throwing something across room etc...breaking stuff! my friends boyfriend comes over to my house when my parents are a way on mondays and wensdays and thirsday and friday and sundays and my friend comes over on mondays,tuesdays,and thirsday so we can work on our history with my aunt she is a history and math and one day he took his shirt off and jumped on me and we are both indians and i was wearing a bottin shirt that day and he just tore it off and i kicked him and to my room and locked my self in their and put a diffrient shirt on and it wasn't a bottin shirt and he got my door open and i opend my window and it was a 2story house and we had a vine and i jumped and when i got close i gabed the vine it their was a gate thing and i grabed it and i jumbed the rest of the way but my friend drove by and i went into the road and i toll her to stop and i jumped into the and she asked "WHAT IS GOING ON!" and i said "DRIVE!" so how do i tell him no next time?

I have this ex.bf nick who i dated on off for almost a year it was a roller coaster ride,we broke up at least 6-7 times and at one point were engaged but called it off 3 times even when we had set dates for the church.I am 19 going to be 20 in march in college as a commuter and he 23 yrs old and just graduated from another college.He came back wanting get back together and get married.But i feel that after all the fighting we went through,him cheating on me(one occasion that i am aware of),crazy emotions,and the long distance relationship(him in NYC/me in NJ).He has no job right now ,barley graduated college, all he wants to do still is party,play video games, live in parents basment,and he calls this finding himself?He expects me to be able to hangout or be avaliable whenever he calls to talk 24/7.I feel i already messed up a semester because of his drama so i need to focus on school(my major),my future goals, and preparing for life.I still have feelings for him what too do?

The reason that I ask this is because it is becoming a major problem in our society. Why is it that as soon as a relationship hits a snag or seems like it is in danger, the first reaction is "forget him/her and move on." Shouldn't people be encouraging them to try and fix their relationships rather than just running from their problems? Recently my girlfriend broke up with me. We have been together for 4 years and are now trying to work things out. When she broke up with me two months ago almost everyone I turned to said that it was over and I should give up. They said, "she is being an idiot and you should just forget about her." I did not listen and if I had, we wouldn't be where we are today, working things out and growing together.

Could you answer this question assuming:
A. I'm not talking about relationships where someone was unfaithful
B. I'm not just talking about marriage, but divorce can be discussed as well
C. I am not asking for advice on my current relationship issue

This girl is a waitress at a bar i go to. She is new thier. She came up to me and started to talk to me. She noticed I was wearing a baseball cap and started to talk to me about baseball. So anyway eventually I asked for her phone number. She gave it to me. I know her job is to be friendly for tips and such. She also told me to text her first as she didnt asnwer her phone from strange numbers. So I did. So anyways I have talked to her some more at the bar a few days later. I have also found out that she is working 2 jobs and she does not have a regular schedule. So i have called her 2 times but both times she was at work and could not talk to me. So then I have texted her a few times. Just a nice message like hope your day is going good. We will talk later. She did answer me once. I didnt send the messages where a response is necessary. Sounds like she is interested in me, how often should I txt or phone her because i want to ask her out. Also her 2nd job is temporary.

I was just on the phone with my boyfriend and he was playing around with a knife.
I never told him I was scared of knives so I was like "Put it down NOW."
And he said "no why?"

I yelled and got really scared and started crying.

I have been threatened with knives and they TERRIFY me.

I have been married for a while now but I can't remember the date it happenend. For years now I felt so unwanted but now that I don't work its worse but when I did all he did was spend my money. For many years I carried this man when he was jobless and in between jobs, I provided him with support. Now that I longer can't provide that extra money I am no longer useful.Over the years I have just lost the urge. I don't feel like a woman anymore. I have packed on over one hundred pounds due to stress and other things...lazyiness. He has the kids call me names like Cindy Bear, rolliepollie, and lardass. I am currently in school but once I finish I plan on leaving him and the kids. This man has caused so much pain. I have even thought of hanging him...I have so much hate for this person until it makes me sick. Its so bad that I have an imaginary place where I am wanted, respected and loved. I have a basket ball coach who both of my parents are close friends with, im nice to all of her little children, im really good friends with her daughter (my age), like ex. her and her 5 children will come out to my house is East Hampton for the weekend. I'm also a really good basket ball player like i get tons of shots in a game. well today i was upset and didnt feel good.Also at times I have problemss breathing.
