I just started college this summer about 4 hours away from home. If i had chosen to go to a local college, i would for sure be dating this certain girl, but nothing ever happened b/c i knew i'd be leaving her. Now only a week in and i'm missing her alot. I just want to stop thinking about her and just let go of everything i chose to leave behind, but its extremely hard even with all these new people and opportunities. i've even found out that there's people that i never even knew that i was attached to, and i'm missing them a WHOLE lot too.

so how can i go about letting go of these people i'll only see during holidays and rare occasions?

I met this one guy, and we have alot in common, except that he lives on the other side of the country... we're exactly alike in almost every way, and I'm pretty sure he has a crush on me, but because of the distance neither of us want a relationship, we'd like to remain friends. I feel like I'm corrupting him and bothering him because I've been having insomniac moments (staying up until maybe 7am) and I'll just stay online and check out websites, and he'll make himself stay up that late just so he can keep me company and 'he likes talking to me'. He'll also IM me and txt me during classes, and he's getting in trouble with professors for doing that. The most recent thing he did was send me a gift (that cost him about $40). I feel really guilty, and I've confronted him about it, but he says that he knows he doesn't have to do that, he just wants to. What should I do?

mother. Last month, she refused to come to my daughter's fifth birthday party because my dad (her ex-husband) was going to be there. Keep in mind that their divorce occured 16 years ago. Days before the party, she sent me an email that basically stated that I was deliberately leaving her out and that my dad and I could laugh about the fact that she would not be there. She said I had no idea of the stuff that he had gotten away with in the divorce. When I attempted to call her and talk rationally, she flew into a rage and eventually hung up on me. She has pretty much refused to speak with me since (this was about two weeks ago now). The problem is that my daughter spends a lot of time with her. And is planning to spend two weeks with her in the summer to attend swim lessons. I do not want to deny my daughter that, but I do not want my mother to think that she is allowed to treat me like this.....What can I do?

Ok, so I am going out with this guy and he is really shy. I actually think that we were better freinds when we werent together. Anyway, it just doesnt seem like we should stay together and we should just be freinds. My problem with breaking up with him is that any other girl he has been with has terribly dumped him and everytime I am with one of his freinds they are always like dont break his heart and stuff.
What should I do?

i am 49, and he's 66. we've been married for 4 years, and he's tried to adjust to a marital situation, but can't. he did not tell me he was impotent before we were married, which has been hell to endure (the "what's wrong with me?" syndrome lasted the 1st 3 years for me)..he finally admitted he's had this problem since in his 20's. don't suggest viagra (he hates sex). i just found out on memorial day that all his war stories, medals, navy seal, wounds and purple heart were all lies. (he was storekeeper, not special forces operative, never even went to vietnam). he's also told ridiculous stories to everyone he knows about his different music recording offers and friendships with movie stars and singers. he told me that he wrote buddy holly's first hit! (now, i know they were all lies). he was diagnosed bipolar 2 months ago and sees a doc.

how wrong would it be if i were to get out of this mess i'm in? am i obligated to live in this forever?

I met this guy, and it was luv at first sight, he is so cute, very very good looking. 2nd time i saw him i told my sister to call him and talk to him for me, she gave him my phone #, we started exchanging txt messages we went to watch a movie, and next day he did not call me or txt me, at night, he txt me asking me if i wanted to see him again and if i was feeling him. he said he likes me, that I am attractive and would luv to go out with me, BUT, the next day, he did not work, i called him to have lunch and he was busy, at night i txt him to see if he wanted to get a drink he said NOT 2nite. I am so confused, I dont know if i am persuing him too much, if i like him and he really does not like me, why he is so inmature, why cant he just be a man and ask me out, or call me or txt me just to talk to me. when a guy is interested on a woman and he knows she likes him too, he would call her and ask her out., but this guy Does not. i am sick of waiting to hear from him, what should i do

My fiance and I have never had any close friends, just us all through school. If I had bridesmaids, they would be my cousins that I never see and they haven't really even known me during my relationship with him.
So since we have a cute little ring bearer and a flower girl do we need anything else?
Any suggestions on how to go about the actual wedding part (which will take place outside) without "attendants" in the line up? I don't want people to think we have no friends! We're nice people!

I was recently horrified to find out that there are mice living in the house. This scared me and grossed me out enough to leave for two nights. My brother set up traps weeks ago, but still no catch. I think I hear sounds at night that keep me from sleeping. I am saving enough money to leave but I cant leave soon enough. How can I get over my fear and get some sleep at night. I am tired of napping at friends houses. Im terrified. ps. they wont let me get a cat in the house ;(

I feel that his best friend whom he grew up with would be more appropriate. Also, his dad is just now finally accepting me as "good enough" for his son after five years. He is nice to me but before my fiance had made it clear by having a talk with him, he thought that my fiance was making a bad decision w/o really knowing me.

Before my grandma died (she had cancer, so she knew her time was ending) she told me that she needed me to know one thing ....
"Your dad is not your dad"
I have asked family members, and the only person to agree is my aunt.

Well my grandma has gone, and my aunt refuses to talk. But ..... I did ask my mom and dad, and was told to leave well enough alone.

Now here we are 10 years later, my parents have disowned me and have told my kids that my aunt is really my mom. When I confront I am told it was said in anger.

My grandpa just died a few weeks ago, and now my cousin is being told that she was actually raised by my grandparents because she was an illegetimate lovechild of my grandpa and aunt.

When we have researched, we have found out that infact my aunt, her mom, (or so we have been told) was a drug addict, and my grandpa was a bootlegger. (for thse who don't know ... a drug dealer of his day)

How do we find the truth and how do we know who to believe?

Does age really matter when it comes to falling in love? Can you really be too young to fall in love? My teacher is a junior high sweetheart. Her and her hubby got together when they were 13 & 14. Now she is in her 50's & they are STILL happily married! Meanwhile, a 30 year old could get married to somebody else the same age as well & they could get a divorce within 5 years. So...does age REALLY matter? This question has been bugging me & other young people for years!

Her mom is dating a guy she's known for only a year. He was married but shortly after he was cheating on his wife with her mom, going on vacations and everything together. My friend is 19 and she has 2 younger twin brothers that are 7. Well just recently, like one night her mom broke the news that she's moving in with him. He also has kids of his own and has them over sometimes. Well my friend is in college and is worried about moving in with this man her mom just forced on her and her brothers. What should she do? He's always over their house telling the twins what to do and her mom just goes along with what he says to them. My friend really doesn't know what to do. So what do you think she should do with her living arrangements or how should she stop this from happening?
