I provide live desktop support to a few of my customers and wondered if any web based virus scanners were really effective enough to use in a business environment?

Thanks

My computer runs on Windows xp and I have a broadband connection. Recently, I got Windows xp reinstalled as earlier one had got corrupted. I notice that when I opt for shutdown, the computer seeks permission to install updates before shutdown (There is option to shutdown without installing updates too). If I opt for installation, computer starts counting updates installed (e.g. installing update 1 of 8, 2 of 8 so on). Last night, number of updates was as high as 76. What are these updates which Windows xp seeks to install before shutdown? Is it some sort of spyware? I am confused.

How do I get rid of my viruses? I've used Adaware 2007; it froze on me. I also have Spyware Doctor, but everytime I go to quarantine the discovered items, the computer restarts. Does anyone know how to get rid of viruses without this kind of hassle?

I'v bet there's been hundred or thousands of questions like this...so i guess this isn't going to be any different....

My School uses "Fortinet"

I'v tried millions of proxys.

I'v been tring to get on "Nexopia" or "Myspace"

I know one proxy that used to work is...
https://concealme.com
The concealme.com, one worked for the longest time about 5 months, so i'm guessing the the HTTPS://

So dose anyone know any proxys that have HTTPS:// in it
It has to have the S in it or it dosn't work...

I know its against the school policy, and ****, but my teacher dosn't care, she wants to get on myspace as bad as me...
So there's no chance of me getting caught, and expelled... and even if i do get caught, the teachers wouldn't care

So anyone one know proxys that have Https:// at the start of it...

Please and thanks

I have a Microsoft Error Message window that refuses to close. The message states that there is an error and the program has to close. There are two choice; one to report the message and another to close the message. In the past when I chose one or the other, the window closes, the program shuts down and I start again. Now however, when I choose one of the two options, it just duplicates and refuses to close. Even when I reboot the system, when I come back into my rogers email or try to open Google, the message comes up again. The only thing I can open is netscape but netscape is limited in what it can open. How do I get rid of that window so I can open Google and rogers from my desktop shortcuts?

When i start my computer either:
1) my desktop loads up fine but then every 10 seconds it refreshes (explorer.exe refreshes)
2) i get a blank desktop without any icons or anything and i have to hit control+alt+ delete to get into task manager and manually have explorer.exe run. Then the desktop starts refreshing/restarting after every 10 seconds.

its really annoying and i have finals in the next 2 days so please somebody help me fix this.

I ran ad-aware and cleared all the infections. I am running a virus scan and it says i have got 2 trojans: oaif.exe (SHeur.ADXU) and rtfjiqam.exe (Generic_c.FPC). they were healed...same problem.
i tried running the computer in safe mode and the desktop still refreshes every 10 seconds. I tried doing system restore, but it doesn't matter what point i choose it says system restore incompelete. Now i am out of ideas and frustrated. Please help.

My computer is a dell laptop inspiron 600m, 1GB Mem, 80GB HDD and running windows xp home with sp2.

I was watching a show on abc.com and suddenly a download titled "log" popped up in my download file. A simple text file, 1 byte. And then a log-1 also downloaded.

Should I be worried? I have an Apple.

What should I do?
