Easy - access it from home. Unless your home computer also goes through the school's firewall, in which case you're screwed.

It's not simply a Firewall you have to overcome = it's the school Proxy Server ...

Any school network worth it's salt will have NO direct physical connection between the internal (student) network and the external Internet ..

Everything will go via a special computer (known as a proxy server) with two NICS (network interface cards)

Student network packets come in via one NIC card, pass through a software firewall and get picked up by the Proxy Software (usually something proprietary running on LINUX)..

Each packet will be inspected and, if necessary and permitted, the packets are sent out via the second NIC (which is connected to the hardware NAT / Firewall router and thence to the ISP & internet).

Packets that are addressed to (for example) 'banned' web sites (such as anonymous proxies) listed on a 'black list' (which is updated regularly) are 'dropped' and the originating PC and (current logged in) user details are logged for the Network Admins. to follow up later ..

Some schools operate on a 'white list' basis (everything is banned EXCEPT those sites listed on the 'white list').

FYI - most Teacher and IT staff PC's will be on a totally separate network (physical and/or 'logical' - i.e. different Domain) and will 'bypass' the proxy server and be connected direct to the NAT / firewall router ... if this connection is via wireless link (or you can find a 'spare' teacher net socket and/or discover their Domain name), you may be able to find a way in (or way out ?:-) ... irrespective of how they have separated students from teachers, Student log-in names / passwords are highly UNLIKELY to work on the 'teacher net' side and attempting to log-in using a student ID on a teachers PC is likely to trip the ID (Intruder Detection) software)...)

PS - if you get expelled, you will deserve it .. (those dumb enough to get caught need to be taught a lesson)

I suppose you'll be whining if you get caught out. You are letting your parents down if you break the school rules. Unless, of course, they don't care, in which case I apologise because you know no better.

Correct me if I'm wrong, and I sometimes am, but isn't the idea of the school's computer system that it is used to access learning/information sites not for wasting time trying to contact your cyber mates.
Get a life.

The firewall is there for a reason. Go and do your work.

If an anonymous proxy doesn't work, then you'll have to try a secure HTTP tunnel. That always works if done right.
