There are only two common ways that a person can get your email passowrd - you tell it to them, or you make it something so simple they can guess it.

Don't tell them your password, and make it something hard that they should not guess, and you are as protect as possible.

Your password should be at least 12 letters long and NOT a real word, a name, or based on your address, phone number, etc. Pick a favorite phrase (such as "I think that I shall never see a poem as lovely as a tree") and make the password the first letter of each word (ittisnsapalaat). Nobody will ever guess that, but you can type it by simple saying the phrase in your mind.

or use safe email providers like Yahoo! and Hotmail
