I recently cleared my hard drive with my XP disc and re installed my drivers. I can't get my network adapter to download from my drivers disc. I can't get an internet connection without my ethernet controller driver. I'm kind of stuck, any ideas?

It was a gift that came to us used so we don't have any of the paperwork and such that came with it, but I know there has to be a way to look at the insides of the computer or something like that to tell. If it's not wireless-capable, how can I tell if it could support wireless and what do I get/do to make it that way? Thank tons!

I can share the internet connection, but I can't see files on my computer. My setup is like this: A desktop with a dsl modem hooked up to it with an ethernet cable and a laptop with a wireless system built in. Both are Windows XP. Like I said, I can get to the internet fine on the laptop, but I can't see the shared folder (called NETWORK and set to allow full sharing) on my desktop. Both computers are set to have the default MSHOME Workgroup name. I've tried using the Wireless Network wizard and even tried physically hooking up the laptop to the modem with another ethernet cable. Any suggestions or links to a place that might help? My previous online searches haven't helped.

It is analogue cable service, and the screen says "TEMPORARY INTERRUPTION", with the following code:
#V 7
RST 00
TST 55
#P 58
-C 0000
-P *
ER 31
I can't change channels, but I get sound? What does it all mean?

Any help, please?

I've been owning a cable modem (time warner) internet for about 5 months. Cable is solid and never gave me a problem before
(maybe 1 or 2 occasions occured) but that's probably due to a slow cpu

Neways .. i was just wondering do i need to turn the outlet of before i go to sleep? because when i turn my cpu of there's 1 light solid (not blinking). Is this normal?

Thx for any who answers this, and HAPPY ST Patricks DAY !

I bought a new laptop today, and connected it to my home (wired) network, but can't get it talking to a shared network drive I have connected to my XP machine. I have tried everything and can't get it to even see the XP machine or the shared drive on the network...
Have already tried 'map network drive' but it doesn't work.
Somebody please help before I set the damn laptop on fire!!!!
