%2. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.

The DHCP Client service on your computer did not receive a response from the DHCP server to renew your computer's IP address lease. The client still has a valid IP address and periodically will try to get an address lease extension.

This could be caused by network connectivity issues, a DHCP server or relay malfunction, firewall issues, or a malfunction of your computer's network interface card or driver.

It kind of sounds like your router has crashed or has become unstable.

Try powering it and all of your connected computer down for 1 minute, then power-up your router and wait 30 seconds and the start up all of your computers.

There is a recent firmware upgrade for that router available here:

I have the same router, and the firmware upgrade does help with stability issues.

Good Luck,

the respond is sure, you are able to have problems in case you run an advert integrated DHCP server. while advert is working it seems for rogue DHCP servers and tries to close them down, in relation to your router it may no longer try this, besides the fact that if this is going to locate this is presence from the messages this is going to deliver out. in many circumstances what's going to ensue is you will open up your DHCP server console on the DC and it could have a slew of errors in it indicating the presence of yet another DHCP server. you likely would be maximum suitable served with the help of utilising the DHCP function in Win2K3 and placing a reservation or exclusion aside for the router finding on no matter in case you desire to manually assign it or have the comparable handle dynamically assigned each and every time.

I had this problem before and the way I solved it was just to power off the computer and modem/router. Unplug it. Then restart. This is what the tech guy told me and it did the trick. Although I think this was just a quick fix and not a solution.

your dhcp client services just probably didn't start on the computer load up.

go to control panel and open the administrative tools, click on services, look for dhcp client and make sure it has been started. If not, double click on it and start the service and make sure the startup type says automatic and then apply.

Hi Crazy,

Shut down your computer.

Unplug your modem and your router for a minute or so.

Plug back in your modem, then your router.

Reboot your computer.

You should connect now.
