It sounds like you're a former AOL user. Welcome to the REAL internet.

It's because someone set Yahoo! as your home page on your web browser.

You're allowed to set it to anything you like (unlike with AOL) and use any web browser that you like.

Comcast is your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and provides internet access for you. Yahoo is a portal on the web that anybody can access. (I'm connecting to it through Comcast myself right now)

yahoo is a WEBSITE! that means it's accessible to EVERYONE on the internet. if you follow your reasoning, then you would only be allowed to use comcast's website.

go into options on your browser and change your default webpage to whatever you want it to be. It will allow you to set a new one or keep the one that you have.
