connected thru cable, all was well, adaware and spybot were run, and now it doesnt connect.

local area network shows connected, but unable to connect anywhere, tried email (outlook), updating antivirus (which is avast), IE7 and firefox, neither one will connect. It just says page unavailable.

any help much needed..

Restart your computer.

It doesn't really matter what type of connection you have it is still possible for you Internet Provider to encounter problems periodically. They could be working on something, or something could have fried out that they are working on. So maybe call your provider and see if the problem is on their end......? Good Luck.

Go to Start, Programs, Accesories, System Restore and Restore to an earlier date when it worked fine.

The Microsoft OS after 2000 have a built in copy of Registry and operating files for that exact purpose eating up like 3 G of space for that purpose only.

Go to your browser settings>Internet opitons>>Connections>LAN Settings and make sure the first two boxes are unchecked. I always find spyware related things will put a check in one of these boxes and you will not be able to connect to the internet. Uncheck any and click OK. I hope that does it for you.

Go to my networks and double click on ure connection link!!
it should tell u whats the problem, if it doesn't. just restart ure pc...
BTW make sure that the cable works, there should be a light when u insert the cable!!
