It was a gift that came to us used so we don't have any of the paperwork and such that came with it, but I know there has to be a way to look at the insides of the computer or something like that to tell. If it's not wireless-capable, how can I tell if it could support wireless and what do I get/do to make it that way? Thank tons!

The easiest way is to look under your hardware through "My Computer", View System Information, then Hardware. Look for the internet device.

In all honesty, if it was a gift, chances are it isn't wireless compatible currently. What you need to do is go to a store (Best Buy, Wal-Mart, etc..) and purchase a Wireless Internet Card. You then open up the computer and install it. Run the necissary instalation and bam...you are now able to do wireless internet. If you do not have a wireless router, you need one of those to. These connect to the cable modem and broadcast the wireless signal. Good Luck!

First make sure you have a internet connection that you can connect to, that is not password protected, and if it is, make sure you know the password, then to find out if it is capable of suppoting wireless internet, go to start, control panel, and see if you have a option called wireless internet setup wizard. And if you do, just double click it and follow the steps. if there is no icon that says wireless internet setup wizard, go to any computer store and tell them you want to connect your pc to a internet using a wireless internet. They will show you the product you need to connect.

If you have at least windows 98, then its capable. There are wireless routers that work through USB ports, but if the pc is a bit old, get a kit with an ethernet card to install in an available pci slot.
