I'm a beginner. got a 5year old tower and a monitor. may I connect it to a m hot spot?

Your best bet is to buy a laptop that has wireless built into it. You can do that for $300 and up. Most new laptops have it.

You may. but that might involve bringing your whole system to a hotspot if you don't live close to one. You can install a wireless card in the tower. You can also see if you can detect some unsecured wireless networks from your neighborhood and connect to it but that's considered stealing.. =)

Well if you really want to visit a couple of these sites and get a radio/antenna combination that connects to the eithernet port,, then HOPE there is a hotspot/provider that is within range.

Well, you can. I wouldn't want to cart one of them suckers around looking for a hotspot. You just need a wireless card and a wireless server to connect to.
